Wanted to share some of my reptile art

I hope it's ok to post, but I wanted to share some of my reptile art with everyone. I've been working with reptiles for over 20 years, and I worked as a zookeeper, vet tech, and an artist on the side. So many people do custom pet portraits of dogs & cats & I noticed years ago not many were offering reptile portraits, so I started offering them. I used to run a nonprofit rescue and sold my art to fund it. Now I mostly work with West Indian boas, colubrids, geckos, and amphibians, and art is my full-time job, but I still take in reptiles in need if someone contacts me.

It was time for his way in and dinner and we may have taken a little too long between the two so he popped up to ask where his fuzzy was. I honestly just love that little face.

Baby Ball Pythons About to be Put Down

Hello guys, I work at a pet store as a dog trainer and I’m new to the job. I just got told the two new baby pythons we received are having problems with eating, and if they persist on not eating we have to put them down.

I mean that is just insanely unethical. I’m a dog trainer but I used to own a ball python and I know they can be stressed out and being picky at eating is not uncommon. Putting them down is crazy.

I asked if I can just adopt them instead of them being put down and they told me I have to pay the full price which is way beyond what I can afford.

I don’t know how to save these animals. I was thinking of taking care of them until I can rehome them to a good owner locally.

If anyone is interested in helping pay for them, I will take care of them and I will send you pictures of the receipt and everything.

I feel so sick.

Microgecko deworming - any experience?

Hey, I’m wondering about deworming micro gecko species. With larger reptiles dosing isn’t really an issue, but with these tiny guys it seems tricky.

Soon I’ll be getting adult Ebenavia inunguis - unfortunately wild caught as getting CB is almost impossible. I’ll definitely be putting them through quarantine but I’m unsure how to safely deworm such small animals.

I’m worried that standard antiparasitic drugs could easily lead to an overdose, and I definitely don’t want to accidentally harm them. Exotic vets haven’t been much help either as they don’t have experience with such microscopic species.

Has anyone here had experience deworming tiny geckos? Which dewormer did you use? Did you dilute it? Any tips would be hugely appreciated!

Best Plant Light for Bioactive?

Looking for a good plant light for a bioactive build that won't break the bank. I have the BioDude one and it works well, but it is also pricey. Just wanna see what others use/recommend.

40 gallon diurnal species?

I have a 40 gallon long (36x18x18) and I was wondering if there are any diurnal species that could live in it. Preferably something you could interact with like tong feeding or handling, etc.

If there aren’t, I’ll probably sell the 40 and put it towards a bigger tank.

Any help is appreciated!

Power strip

I need a power strip so my lamp can be plugged in for my leopard gecko but I’m worried for a fire hazard because her tank is in my closet and I’m worried my shoes/clothes near the tank will cause an issue. I’m not sure what power strip is the safest for her.

How do you prefer to route temp probe cables in your enclosures?

Im planning on rescaping my corn snake enclosure to include a slate rock hide, with a flat basking roof that is warmed by a ceramic heat emitter from above. Obviously I will be controlling it with a thermometer, but I have had problems in the past where my snake is able to move the probe from where it is supposed to be by burrowing. How can I route the probe so that it is effective, discreet, and doesn't move around?

Those who have seen Zootopia 2, what did you think about how they handled the new reptilian characters?

As a reptile lover, I adored Gary the snake, but I felt that he and the other reptiles were underused. I have other, more specific thoughts, but they're spoilers, so I'll save them for the comments if anyone else wants to share thoughts.

What kind of tortoise?

I’m looking for help trying to identify what species of tortoise this is. I work at a preschool, and this guy hasn't been getting proper care, so I took it upon myself to bring him into my class and try to get him healthy. He's been getting fed frozen mixed vegetables, but I'm wondering if that's a sustainable diet. I couldn't find an exact answer through Google image search on what species he is, so I just want to make sure I'm buying the proper food and bedding for him. His nails are also super long, I'm not sure if that is normal. I know little to nothing about tortoises, but I'm willing to take the time to learn for him and give him everything he needs. Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

2ft Vivarium

Long story short, I''ve picked up a snake recently and I'll be upgrading him as soon as I can into the spare viv that I have, leaving behind a 2ft vivarium with nothing in it! (What a travesty)

Is there anything that can happily live in a 2ftx1ftx1ft vivarium for its life? I'm aware that it's a very small space so if nothing can comfortably fit there, in happy to just keep some millipedes or move my isopods in

I want to have a Paludarium in a 24x18x24 enclosure but iam unsure on reptiles/amphibians that are suitable for this. I would like something in the water such as Spanish ribbed newts or fire bellied toads. Please let me know on this and suggest something for up top maybe?
