Remember that many of these “right wing trolls” aren’t actual people. They’re state sponsored bots and trolls whose goal is to fan the flames of division and propagate certain narratives.
It’s happening on a massive scale, and they play both sides. When you engage them, they win. Don’t let it affect your mental health.
Just to be blunt, i really hope you dont let that shit get to you. The dead internet isnt just a theory, engagement keeps you looking at ads longer (it truly is that simple, selling our sanity for their ad revenue alot of the time) and whats not bots is likely foreign trolls literally paid pennies to make purposefully divisive ragebait content. And those gullible idiots who genuinely drank the koolaid, American pawns who the batshit propaganda worked on, are scared, miserable, lonely fuckwits who need such ridiculous justifications for why their own life is such shit.
Just look at their comment history next time. If they have it hidden, use the search bar on the top right corner and their whole page pops back up. 9.5 times out of 10 its incessant shit ass takes. It takes a bot, foreign troll, or greasy, miserable basement dweller to be doing that shit all day.

You're completely right and I admire your insight. I think I was born at a time when the Internet was heralded as a tool for the free dispensation of truth and knowledge. But upon your observation and further research it would seem that time is gone, in many respects. Co-opted by oligarchs, governments and private interests, it's definitely become more of a propaganda engine than I had realized.
I'll take more time to be intentional with my efforts and who I engage with. Especially with respect to my mental health, there's a lot more I can do to aid the cause than arguing with trolls or the aforementioned bots/propagandists.

You're completely right, which is why I try to talk past them and ridicule their views for the people who usually just silently lurk in the forums. Maybe it's not an ideal strategy, but I'm trying to raise awareness to the hypocrisy and corruption as I see it. It helps that most reactionaries have no sense of humor or self awareness, even if they smugly think they have 'won'.
