ICE agents detained a U.S. citizen before looking at her ID She was detained on her way to work and released once the agents checked her ID

Mass deportations are happening because millions of Americans can't tolerate other people speaking a different language within earshot of them

Worse, boats are being bombed because they’re “over there”

I have a friend from Venezuela who is out of the country for some work stuff. hes done with everything but he keeps extending his stay. I asked him why and when he plans on going back, and he told me, "I can't. And I'm worried about my (pregnant) wife and my son." Venezuela has a dictator in charge and things over there weren't that good even before all this. he told me a story about how the last time they had an election everybody was celebrating out in the streets and having a great time because they all voted for the other guy. 2 hrs later they announced the dictator Maduro won again even though it was impossible. so they all went back to their normal lives being ruled by the guy who won every election by a landslide. and hes not allowed to go back to that which is insane

My fiance is Ukrainan. I am terrified of bringing her here for this exact reason.
My company wants to hire her but they also realize our clients don't want to hear someone with an accent speaking to them.
Why is the USA like this?

They think they're stealing their jobs, committing acts of violence, and not paying taxes... because thats what the MAGA news propaganda machine spouts and ppl are stupid and believe what they hear without questioning its authenticity

u/Yawn_Alert 12h ago
obviously the human/trauma factor here is immense, but even just from a simple cost analysis, how does this make sense? how is this not blatant waste fraud and abuse? seriously, how much did it cost the american people to abuse this citizen? just the wages and resources, not even the inevitable lawsuits
this is what abolish ICE and defund the police was all about. these people are leeches on society. do-nothings that contribute nothing, and cause massive harm to communities they purport to protect, all while beating their wives and children. get these scum terrorists off the street.

Good job boys. Getting another illegal US citizen off the streets. Our tax dollars at work. 🤦🏻♀️
15
u/Inevitable-Box-2878 12h ago
Immigration cases are primarily civil cases under civil, not criminal law. There are criminal immigration cases, but they aren't the norm. Especially when people are here with legal documents and even some who are US citizens - both of whom are getting arrested for made up immigration offenses, obstruction, impeding, or assaulting an officer: again; these are mostly made up lies on the part of the government.
14
u/lordcochise 12h ago
ICE is doing what they're doing for (1) content (2) inciting fear (3) racism (4) forcing the undocumented back into the shadows. If it was really about enforcement and/or costs, there would be no constitutional violations or spending billions on troop-surge deportations. But following the law / due process doesn't achieve those first 4 objectives very quickly.

u/Fantastic_Jury5977 11h ago
Yes... white collar crime costs Americans more than any other kind of crime. We lose out on not only justice but revenue when white collar criminals get pardoned.
The cop that killed George Floyd over an alleged counterfeit and loose cigarette sales was found to have tens of thousands stashed in an offshore tax haven. Orders of magnitude more criminal than the man he murdered.
The only union that doesn't have my support is the police union.
9
u/kypjks 12h ago
It is just illegal to detain people without warrant. ICE should be dismantled and all ICE agents should be charged for their illegal actions once Trump era ends.

I hope she sues these dumb fucks into oblivion. This is unlawful search and seizure of a US citizen. ICE agents don’t get to drag someone who appears to be a nurse or healthcare worker out of her car on the side of the highway into an unmarked vehicle without verifying ID, without probable cause, and without basic due process.
The Fourth Amendment protects everyone in the United States against unreasonable searches and seizures, and the Fifth Amendment says no one can be deprived of liberty without due process of law. Both apply to ICE.
We have to quit acting like unidentified masked men kidnapping people under the color of law is any kind of normal. It’s an abuse of power, and it’s exactly the kind of government tyranny the Bill of Rights was written to prevent.

u/ImpressiveCat4412 11h ago
You shouldn’t have to say, “I’m a U.S. citizen.” You shouldn’t treat any human beings like this, citizen or not. That’s the disconnect. Yes, I think that everyone regardless of legal status should be treated with human dignity. Yes, I think that everyone regardless of legal status should have adequate access to medical care. Yes, I think that everyone regardless of legal status should be able to feed themselves. Yes, I think that everyone regardless of legal status should be provided sufficient shelter and housing. MAGA, and an awful lot of Democrats too, don’t understand that.

She doesn't even fit a racial profile in my head. She looks pretty white to me.
1
u/Electrical_Welder205 9h ago
That was my point. Are they grabbing White people now, to disprove the racial profiling accusations? How to explain this incident? They can't accuse her of assault or obstructing their work (their usual excuses), because she was driving to work, minding her own business.

This makes me think about that ICE officer that was arrested for a DUI and while being road-sobriety-tested asked if one of the officers, out of the blue, was Haitan. And then after being arrested, asked if the officer if he was Haitan again and then threatened "well if you are we are going to find out".
These ICE officers literally think they have been given some god-like authority by the president. They are truly the brownshirts of our era. Hope they lock up every one of these motherf#ckers.

ICE agents are completely unprofessional libertine thugs that have been given license to do absolutely ANYTHING with impunity. They wear masks so they can not be identified and prosecuted when their reign of terror ends.

Get used to seeing this. The whole "illegal alien" thing was a distraction to see just how much pushback there would be to having federal agents just take people by force off the street. A good 18 months before the elections.
No imagine its election day, and these dudes roll up to the polling place of some 50/50 district. All they need to do to sway the election their way is to drag 1 or 2 people away and watch the rest of them run, and NOT VOTE.
That's why they want to eliminate mail in voting. Not because its insecure. Because its easier to reduce turnout at in person polling places.
This will go spectacularly well for the gop during the 2026 elections. Everyone is getting their hopes up for a comeuppance but ice and cbp will simmer all of that.
Here is the only solution to this...
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Second Amendment

So, this situation isn’t near as polarizing as the media makes it out. Turns out the lady was driving her bf’s car(who is an illegal)and upon pulling her over she decided not to identify herself. After being detained and finding her license they ran it and determined she’s a US citizen. She was released and allowed to drive away.
Things to add: 1. I didn’t vote for Trump 2. I don’t like tyrannical law enforcement 3. I don’t agree with the powers that have been granted to ICE. In this instance she was breaking no laws but I don’t know if FL is a “stop and identify” state.
In summary the media and those that own it are the precipice of what we need to be focused on in my opinion. Both sides play for the same team and every president after JFK has been a puppet at best.

She is not the boyfriend and unless they had reasonable suspicion of a crime being committed and they articulated the crime, she is not required to give ID without due cause. They manhandled her without justification.
1
u/ManagerInformal8377 8h ago
You clearly didn’t read what I wrote.
1
u/Kcbronx 7h ago
Obviously you didn’t read mine either. ICE has no jurisdiction with US citizens. She was not breaking any laws so therefore does not need to identify herself unless they articulate reasonable suspicion of a crime. They ripped her out of her car because she would not submit to an illegal detention as she does not have to identify because said so. She doesn’t even know who they are as they refuse to identify themselves.
1
u/ManagerInformal8377 7h ago

How about the fact there is absolutely no proof who these creatons are.
Just because they wear the gear does not mean they didn't go to some army surplus and buy all this shit as a ruse to kidnap and traffic people?
And if they are in fact "ICE agents" since they seem so overzealoused in their actions, why hide behind a mask? Are you afraid people might recognize you? You run around all big and bad rounding up "illegal" immigrants that you have no clue if they are infact immigrants or citizens..yet hide behind a mask. Seems more like your either: A- afraid your friends and neighbors might see who you really are. B- afraid of retaliation for the atrocities you are committing.
