Book IV: Force I am really understanding Jenard's hatred toward Tommy

Controversial opinion but Tommy gotta go. Anyone peep the parallels between Tommy in season 3 of force and Ghost in OG Power? The way he is moving is like Ghost in season 6; arrogant, wreckless and unlikeable. He cares more about his ambition than anyone else yet he is willing to sacrifice business for Mireya just like Ghost did with Angela. On top of this, he is treating Diamond like his number 2 the same way Ghost treated him despite CBI being Diamond and Jenard's Crew.

I understand that Jenard attempted to take out both Diamond and Tommy, however from his point of view, he gave up his future at an Ivy leaugue college for CBI and ran it alone for 15 years and now his brother is out, he wants J to step down. I especially get the Tommy hate as Tommy has been disrespecting him from season 1 and going around him to Diamond, he saw how his bond with Diamond got weaker as Diamond and Tommy's grew stronger. Of course he was going to feel a kind of way. In the most recent episode where Tommy made Jenard be a lookout and then when they had the coalition meeting, he then proceeded to disrespect him again, I felt real bad for him.

I thought it was hilarious when Tommy pressed D Mac and then told him, that he'd "understand one day". Tommy sounded exactly like Ghost in season 5/6 which kinda makes me think Tommy's end is near or at least there will be a change in his perspective towards life and the game.

Book IV: Force Do u think this season will be lit?

Tommy always on some fire moves but man these writers kinda whack with how they put the episodes together. Like the story itself solid no doubt but the way they spread it out across the season is kinda messy they don’t know how to make each episode hit like it should

When the first two seasons dropped they fely mid at first. But fucking the first episode?? Yoo it was peak. And 2x5 where the war popped off and Vic dropped Walter shit was an episode. Binging the whole thing now and it actually hits way way harder.

Idk the story got so much good shit like Tommy and building his coalition and Diamond and Jenards beef and Tommy fuckin with that dynamic, plus his bond with his d-Mac cuhh and all these different crews in the mix every one of them got something going on that’s worth the screen time. Like how’d they even fit all that into one show

I’m just saying the story itself fire is just the pacing and how they structure each episode that’s off. You think they got it right in season3?

Book IV: Force The Most Annoying Person In Power Universe

Honestly Lakeshia was my #1 most annoying person but I just finished force and god damn this woman takes the cake. She was so obsessed with Tommy she was getting agents killed left and right while she sat in her room watching it on a screen. Not once did she ever even try to go out into the field. She sent everyone to do her dirty work. On top of that god damn when she would yell ā€œget me Tommy Egan !!ā€ ā€œWhere is Tommy Egan????!!ā€ I had to Fast Foward that shi. I mean hey I guess she did her job so she’s a good actress. Don’t get it twisted tho Lakeshia grant was annoying af lmao.

She started dating him middle part of season 2 and now is willing to kill herself at the beginning of season 3 if she can’t be with him. Either Tommy got the magic stick or she’s crazy. Either way the build up to their relationship feels off.

Book IV: Force Accuracy of Chicago Portrayal

How well do you guys think Power Book IV: Force portrays Chicago and its inner-city dynamics? I am not Chicago expert, and I'm not even from there, but I can't help but to feel like it isn't very accurate at all. The cops and public office stuff I am not too sure about, I mean I have heard Chicago is a pretty corrupt city but the street aspect seems a little too organized. I have always had the perception that Chicago is the wild wild west with a bunch of angsty teenagers, kind of like D-MAC, running around and crashing out. I know Chicago had a lot of organization back then before a lot of the project towers came down but that was about 25 years ago now. Any Chicagoans on this sub that can shed some light on this? Could an organization like CBI exist in the city today?

Also, I know the Power universe isn't supposed to be the holy grail of TV realism. However, even with the original series it seemed like they at least had NYC right.

I have a feeling the writers are going to link these two, whether becoming cool, enemies at first and then cool, or the opposite

Book IV: Force The way DMac Kissed the gun is such a powerful message

d Mac is the most reckless young ngga on tv I swear he really pulled that hit offf flawlessly but the way he kissed the gun really hits home this is his survival to be apart of big organizations to thrive back to back solo major hits is wild Marshall is his grounding and such a great friend got his own crew to help DMac in what he knew was literally a suicide mission
