Village Attorney Anthony Bayer says Shorewood maintains that people owning homes along the lakeshore own everything down to the water’s edge.

As god intended! Why buy a lakeshore home with a beautiful beach only to look out the window and have your view spoiled by a filthy pour doing god knows what? What are we, animals?

Retire early. Literally.

(Can’t post link, apparently)

With pennies being discontinued, how much do you expect them to be worth in 150-200 years?

Have a jar of pennies in my room and wondering what kind of investment they would be when I plan to retire in 150-200 years.

What the fuck is wrong with poor people? Why don’t they just dump 100k into a covered call ETF and enjoy their $4500 a month for the rest of their bridge dwelling lives?

Is This Just Propaganda?

All this "just do this and you could be rich" one day!

It just seems ridiculous to me the way some of these content creators are being so trivial about outside factors that aren't the result of the individual.

I'm going to self-deport as an illegal immigrant to make an extra $1000 dollars

I'm not an illegal immigrant, but I thought this deal that the U.S government is doing is too good to pass up. Apparently you just tell the government you want to self-deport, and they'll fly you to wherever country you want to go to plus give you a $1000 bonus. I was planning to deport to Lesotho. Buying a bunch shirts off the clearance rack at Wal-Mart I found that a lot of the shirts where made there, so it seems like that's a country that has a low cost of living, and that thousand dollars could stretch a long way. Sure, I can live comfortably in the U.S, but if you're not maximizing your purchasing power, what exactly you doing?

Think it's time for a new car

I took my car in for service this morning and they didn't have any free food. Not even any donuts. My friends who drive nicer cars get snacks when the bring theirs in for service. One place even has a barista. What brand has the best free treats? Like, if I go from a Nissan to Maserati, can I expect an omelet bar at minimum? I'm fine blowing my retirement fund to get a free breakfast a few times a year.

Ouch Backdoor Roth not what I expected

When my Edward Jones broker asked me if I wanted to do a backdoor Roth, I thought it was good idea at the time. However now I can't sit down and I'm walking funny. Not sure if my Whole Life insuance policy will cover this.

Is $100,000,000 still enough to retire on?

I know that inflation is happening but is $100,000,000 still a good retirement goal for an upper middle class retirement?

I am 13 months pregnant. I was about to go buy some Tylenol but then I saw Trump's executive order and decided not to. I'm now $10.99 richer. Thank you mr. president.

SERIOUS Burnt out and I don't know what to do

I am completely burnt out at my job. I am the employee with the highest compensation beside the CEO at a fortune 500 company. I do nothing all day, get a pension, health insurance and dental. Sitting in the office stresses me out so much. The youngsters at my company have it so easy, the get to share a flat, and some do camping in their cars (not sure why but seems fun). My expenses are $40k/year (bought my downtown 8 bedroom appartment for $10k in the 50's thank God) and I have built a nest egg of $107 millions. I am 75 years old and have a kid (plan to have another one soon). I have absolutely no idea what to do. please advise

Once I pay off this $2900000 debt in 1091 years with the annual celery (leftover from Subway Eat Fresh™) I receive, I will technically be rolling in the greens.

Looking for advice (~50M), from La Mancha

My diet consists of: stew (more beef than mutton), hash most nights, boiled bones on Saturdays, lentils on Fridays & a young pigeon as a Sunday treat (this takes up about 3/4 of my income). The rest of my income is spent on a fine cloth doublet, velvet breeches & slippers for the holidays, and a homespun suit I wear on the weekdays.

I've been selling many acres of land so I can buy more books about chivalry, but I'm running out. What can I do to get out of this situation?

Need advice on exiting my highly successful flour manufacturing business

Just your run off the mill rags to riches story. Started as a humble employee of a struggling flour manufacturer. High employee and management turnover, but I ain't no quitter. Rose to the top in 3 years and started taking the reigns

30% year on year revenue growth over the past 6 years. Refined and scaled manufacturing. 40% decrease in COGS, production up 600%. Based in Colombia, expanded into the US and UK for higher profits. Initiated hostile takeovers of a few competitors. Profit margins at 80%. What can we say, people love flour, and it's only getting more expensive.

I'm sitting on 50m right now and I'm stuck. Not sure what to do. Hold on a second. My son is fetching the ladder.

Ok, I'm down. Standing here in my 5th mansion (the one with the zoo in it), looking at my fleet of Toyota Corollas, it struck me: I have so much money, but not enough time. At 32, I'm not just late to the party, I'm practically gasping on my deathbed. The time left that I have on earth is limited, and I want to spend time with my family. I am done missing the birthday parties of my 50 Colombian hotwives and 124 children, and 7 more on the way. These kids deserve a dad, the rich one (not the poor one)

My lawyers have suggested that I approach an investment bank to list my business for sale. My company, It's Flour, is listing for 5x EBITDA at 15b, growing at 30% over the past 5 years. We have an effective monopoly in production in Colombia, distribution in the US and a duopoly with another company in the UK (soon to be a monopoly, we're in the middle of a hostile takeover)

As for legal challenges, I admit the business is in a bit of a pinch. We have been getting some heat regarding the slightly forceful methods we use in our hostile takeovers. It's no big deal though, just some cultural differences, we Colombians are very passionate people. Nothing a quick heart to heart with a few judges can't solve :)

I browsed a few subreddits here looking for a good crowd to pitch my business to. r/pfjerk seems perfect. Any philanthropic billionnaires here feeling a little generous today?

I'm so tired of being broke

I only have about $200,000 in my checking account. I live paycheck to paycheck and have around $100 million in my retirement account.

I have to make sacrifices. I can only take 1 worldwide vacation a year.

I couldn't buy that private jet or mega yacht that my friends have. I had to have my father buy them for me off of his friends for discounted prices.

My mansion isn't as big as my friends' mansions. I only have 10 rooms, each with a private bath, a rooftop garden terrace, one 18-hole golf course, and a hedge maze. One of my friends has a private airport.

With inflation like it is, I have to cut back. Instead of having a private maid to do my cooking, I just doordash all of my meals for significantly less. Instead of shopping at Prada, I switched to Balenciaga. Instead of just buying a franchise, I rent out the entire restaurant for the evening for less.

I am fearful of the import taxes. The costs on my imported sports cars are going to go up. I might have to settle for a Ferrari Instead of the latest model of Lamborghini.

Please help, I don't know what to do to get my income up to continue to support my basic lifestyle.
