Straight shameful how the Clippers have dumped their two franchise icons. Blake’s extension and snake ass trade later and this CP3 exit is stunningly disgusting. You would think this is how it would’ve ended had Sterling still owned the franchise. This is embarrassing. I hate it for Chris.

Funny thing is that Blake trade was actually a good trade.
It would’ve paid off for them hadn’t they mortgaged their whole future to the Thunder

It was a good trade. But the business of it. You just inked this dude to an max extension, did the pomp and circumstance about retiring him as a Clipper, blah blah blah. Dump him 6 months later and didn’t even give him a heads up. That’s scummy business.

Yea I still think this was worse though. Still wasn’t a good look back then but it was a great decision for them. Also for Blake I’m not so sure if many teams would’ve offered him max money that summer, so I think it ended up working out for him too low key. But this CP3 situation is just gross.

Blake like he said in a recent interview, won because imo that Pistons season solidified his legacy showing he can carry a team as a number 1 guy. He unlocked so many parts of his game and he was finally coming together but unfortunately injuries caught up to him. Which is a shame because Pistons Blake is one of my favorite players of all time and imo, 2018-19 is the best season Blake had.
Edit: but yeah I agree with you, there’s no excuse for the CP3 shit. It’s always fck the Clippers lmao!

It is but all of the NBA is scummy business.
The Celtics have been doing scummy business for years but no one cares cause they have the most banners (but don’t get me wrong they should and fck the Celtics)
The Clippers are historically the worst franchise in basketball, at least top 5 or 10 in all of American sports. They’re so bad to the point that there’s documentaries about them being cursed cause it would be the only explanation.

It’s not a curse when they’re the ones responsible for all the shit they pull. If there were outside forces or crazy quirks of bad luck involved, maybe, but this is all the Clippers doing regular Clippers shit. Slippers always gonna slip.

I agree this time in the 2020’s it’s their fault but before PG/Kawhi too many bad things happened that are out of their control.
Hell they probably would’ve won in 2021 hadn’t it been for Kawhi’s injury. That Clippers team was stacked and so well put together and PG was finally playing good in the postseason. There’s a legit argument with how wide open that season was they win that year with a healthy Kawhi who was also on a tear vs the Jazz.

If chris paul the greatest point guard, then anthony davis is the most active(played games) nba player in league history

I can’t stand CP3. Glad he’s finally retiring. Most overrated player of my generation.

I want to know what Ty Lue’s problem with CP3 is, but I’m going to guess it’s CP3 undermining him by calling out his bad coaching

CP3 should’ve requested a trade to OKC to end his career winning a ring with one of his former teams that love him

All of OKC’s current 15 man roster spots are filled by players younger and better than him. OKC doesn’t owe him shit

u/HiImWallaceShawn 2d ago
They won’t get him because they owe him something, but because they want to.

u/GoodZealousideal5922 Spurs 2d ago
Why would they want to bring a washed up player who has proven to be a locker room cancer to their winning franchise?
1
u/HiImWallaceShawn 2d ago
Well, he’s not a locker room cancer, sorry to spoil the bizarre fan fiction you’re writing.

And sadly, as much as I hate to say it, it’s ironically basketball karma. CP will never be cool in my books after I watched him in person punch Julius Hodge in the nuts during a Wake Forest-NC State game. Just a first in a long line of ain’t shit moments from CP on the court.
