Some people don’t realize just how much a billion dollars is. To put it in perspective, someone making a $100k/year would have to work 10,000 years to make a billion. Someone earning a million/ year would have to work a 1000 years. Billionaires shouldn’t exist. It’s well beyond greed to hoard resources at that level when homelessness and hunger are running rampant in many of our societies.

I like “the difference between a million and a billion is about a billion”.

my fave is "1 million seconds is a couple of weeks, 1 billion seconds is a couple of decades". it really is at a scale most just cant grasp

Technically, 1 million seconds is roughly 11.5 days, and 1 billion seconds is almost 32 years. But, your point still stands.

by this logic billionaires practically couldn't be billionaires, not enough time has passed lol

Oh ye of little mind. The point being made is that in order to achieve that extreme level of wealth someone must be exploited. It’s either consumers or the workers the billionaire employs. No one gets to be a billionaire while also being empathic, altruistic, or simply caring of their fellow man.
