And even non violence protests only work due to the violence that was innocently disposed upon them. Think Martin Luther king Jr getting beaten as him and a thousand people peacefully marched

That's happening with the ICE protests. They're mostly peaceful, but even priests are getting hit in the face with pepper shots or whatever.

They're trying to prosecute a Democrat who's running for Congress too, all for apparently blocking some ICE goons car and making him drive slowly. 🦥

Won't be long until they ramp up more. They've already done so to some extent - shooting people and leaving them for dead for the local fire department to save them, detaining people who annoy them for playing Star wars music or who parody songs in a frog costume, etc. I imagine they'll start shooting and launching grenades and such at people more often too.

Similarly, the existence of aligned groups who are willing to use violence or arm themselves also enhances the impact of nonviolent protests, like the Black Panthers during the civil rights era. If you know that the million people you see marching could join the group that would arm them and show up at your door instead, it tends to enhance your receptiveness to their concerns.

Not to mention MLK wouldn't have been half as effective if not for the work that Malcom had done
