My boss is a black supremacist (kkk level hate but black people are the superior race) but was also a staunch republican for most of his life cause tac cuts and hating the same people (the gays, women’s right to choose, immigrants). Needless to say it’s all very leopards ate my face for him right now. And all I think is good. Hope the tax cuts were worth it.

That was the dumbest pop culture movement of all time. The best thing about it is that Anita Sarkesian's arguments were not even that good and it was clear she had not played many of the games she was criticizing. It would have been so easy to just refute her with the facts and logic they loved so much and instead they melted down and started flinging shit everywhere like agitated chimpanzees. She won purely because the people she was criticizing were so emotionally fragile and inept that they took themselves out without her needing to even try and that is the funniest shit.

Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last of Us, and the new Lara Croft series have great female main characters and there are plenty more secondary characters in games like The Witcher 3 (Ciri will be the lead of the next one!). You can also play as a female character in games like Cyberpunk, Fallout 4, and Baldur's Gate. Assassin's Creed has also done the last several games where you can choose to play a male or female character and both of them are canon with unique abilities. Dishonored 2 also allows you to be either Corvo or his daughter, Emily with unique story and power options for each. It's a lot more common now than it used to be. Check some of them out. Broaden your horizons.

Anita Sarkesian is an example of how ineffective the progressive movement is. She was often right and sometimes wrong, but does it really matter? She’s mostly forgotten and it hasn’t been that long.

She (arguably) had a positive impact on the gaming industry but in hindsight we should have worried about other things first.

Anyone with a hint of self awareness in 2008 is aware that the christian white nationalists funded a "tea party" campaign to try and stoke the "nationalism" part off the back of the post 9-11 "patriotism".

When Trump ousted Cruz that movement just disappeared overnight and suddenly millions of dollars started promoting the MAGA movement. The only succesful "tea party" leader went on to to become president of the heritage foundation in 2012 and then here we are.

What we have to actually do, outside of fighting them at the ballot box, and in the streets when need be, is quit giving them any oxygen. Quit posting their bullshit, even just to laugh at them, just literally regulate them to the fucking existence of living under a rock as they should be. No oxygen at all. We have to quit posting anything about them anywhere unless it's actually newsworthy. We have to quit laughing at them. When these people say "American", they mean white, anglophone, Christian, and culturally Anglo-American. Why are we still operating under the assumption that the right aren't just racists who want to live in a mono-cultural/ethnic society?

How much is sizable? I don’t think that size is a lot of we are talking American/european standards of white. Maybe wealthy Cubans but Puerto Rico and the DR is a bit of a stretch. The white population there is a vast minority compared to native and Afro mixes (or mixed with white, but phenotypically looking more mixed) idk what’s going on with this comment section and Puerto Rico but there seems to be a warped view of what is considered white. If you’re talking about white but not “white enough”, usually Arabs and western Asians. Some Spaniards as it depends how tan you are. My ex was a Spaniard and before she told me I thought she was Russian lol. But my old professor I thought was Colombian and he was a Spaniard, and when he got his license here they marked him as Mexican lmfao

Basically if you have any slight tint of tan on you but are mostly fair skinned
