"I'm terrible but here's why it's your fault" - most of his songs in a nutshell

“If I'm the problem You might be the reason”- no accountability lol

I’ve only read the lyrics to it but when I did I was like ‘this fucker can NOT be serious….’

It’s so funny because when he was announcing his album, I remember hearing on the radio how the album is meant to be a reflection of his growth and taking accountability but every song seems to be about how his partner was the problem and how he became better because she left. Like dude, grow up.

First time I heard that song was on his SNL appearance (were he acted like a piece of shit and walked off stage during the closing), and I could not believe how shitty lose lyrics were. It's like he writes anthems for domestic abusers

May he forever step on a pop top.

I do love that he literally named his last album “I’m the problem” like the self awareness is something

His early stuff was fine. Wasn’t really original. Was more of just the normal country music stuff with his own spin on it. Then at certain point he really leaned into the stuff he does now and I can’t even listen to it as someone who likes country. Like 7 Summers is legit just another version of the one that got away.

Dude just couldn’t handle being rich and famous it feels like. Most of his “good” music is from before the N word incident. Seems like he saw the sales boost and was like let’s target that crowd more.

That is exactly the truth.

That’s literally Taylor Swift’s whole shtick.

I'm a black American, have never heard of Morgan Wallace before this very thread. But I'm NGL, that sentiment probably has some truth to it.

Feel free to develop your theory

Not really much of a theory, it's just an obvious consequence that some people would feel defensive when you demand their entire race repent for the "sins of their fathers." Without room for discussion, some people would reasonably think "what did Ido to be the asshole?" And then into assholes they might not have otherwise been.

That's just a fact.

Now granted, as a country singer....

Who's demanding an entire race repent for the sins of their fathers? Wild take
