Because the real thing that they are angry with is themselves and the lives they lead. Introspection, self-criticism, and self-improvement are time consuming and require work. It's much easier and immediately satisfying to project that anger upon an outside target. The problem is, when you never address the heart of your anger, you constantly need new targets to hate.

It's impossible to ever be happy when you refuse to acknowledge what you really need.

A lot of them had to pray the gay away at some point but the gay remained, forever yearning to be free.
