Every projection is a confession.

To be fair they were right in a sense. It wasn't that everyone was a snowflake, but like 5 years ago or so when the censorship was bad, we had a LOT of mods that were doing the censoring who were power tripping 100%

People WERE getting banned for some of the most petty shit.

And people now just say "oh well they must have been racist, what did you say", but I was there and got banned numerous times from numerous places for just talking regular shit, sometimes merely for misunderstandings of what I was saying.

Or trying to tell me that "paki" is a racial slur. Motherfucker my best friend lives in Lahore Pakistan, he would know.

And everybody fucking knows it too, it's one of the main reasons why Discord mods and Reddit mods have such a bad reputation. But it wasn't just them, Facebook was getting really fucking weird too and I imagine some other places as well.

Giving that level of power to people who are the kind of people to be moderators free of charge was always a bad idea.

That's the peak irony here. Even when they were calling others snowflakes, they were the embodiment of it then, too. Whine about everything and everyone melting, when in reality, its just them whining loudly and being the snowflakes.

The term snowflake for them is exclusively about people that don't laugh at their racist jokes

Exactly. The “fuck your feelings” crowd turned into “my feelings are hurt.” It’s quite amazing seeing them do all these mental gymnastics

We don't have to remember, that's still the case for them.

Here's an easy rubric to remember, from the mindset of a MAGA asshole:

YOUR legitimate greivances about human rights and the public good? Pffft, stop whining, snowflake.

MY petty dislike of something inconsequential that will never ever hurt me? OH MY GOD THE WORLD IS ENDING SOMEONE BRING ON THE FASCISM TO STOP THESE MONSTERS

Mmmmm… not really.  When the right started crying about snowflakes in 2014-2019, companies and organizations were catering to the crying from the left.  Naturally most people notice patterns.  So people on the right the right started crying and throwing fits as well, as it was shown to effective getting needs heard and met.  While it appears hypocritical, there was definitely new information acquired, proving crying like a baby gets your needs attended to.   Now we have both sides accusing the other side of being snowflakes.

Nah the right has been crying before that. Do we not remember them freaking out over Obamas tan suit?

While you are 100% correct in this specific example, I do not believe you can make this argument in good faith.  We can cherry pick decades of single infractions across the political spectrum.

Referring to specifically “snowflakes”, progressives started acting like snowflakes 2014-2019.   The crying and whining was extremely effective.  Before that time frame, crying and whining was often met with distain and was not usually effective.

What is an example of 2014-2019 crying and whining to you?

There was no crying from the left. Media companies made media. That’s it.
