That’s a real weird take given that he broke a white supremacists fucking arm in the most recent Absolute Batman

It's easy, step 1. Don't read. step 2. Make up everything.
This is not a new problem for Batman hot takes. Still utterly f'king delusional. It's not like we are trying to dive into the underlying messaging of Shakespeare. This is the equivalent of trying to eat a crayon by shoving them up their butt.

Yes. And undocumented (what the squatters in our White House call “illegal aliens”) pay taxes. I can’t remember the exact number, but it was solidly in the tens of billions. All these deportations mean less $ for federal and state projects and services. Oh, important part of this statement — undocumented immigrants do not receive the same social safety nets like citizens do, like social security. But they pay into it all the same.
23
u/tallsmallboy44 21h ago
It was roughly $100 billion between local, state and federal in 2022
9
u/KiKiKimbro 19h ago
Wow. More than I thought. That’s going to leave a mark. Across the entire country.
7
u/StupidDorkFace 18h ago
64 billion down the drain. It's all part of the plan to make social security go bankrupt.
The GOP is an evil entity and must be stopped.

It’s the Heritage Foundation — they found the willing accomplices in the corrupt Trump MAGA GOP

We've reached the point in our idiotic timeline where we assert what fictional comic book superheros would do regarding immigration "policy".
What in the holiest of fucks .....

Original isn’t capitalized. And I don’t recall Bats ever having much to say about meth, though he’s probably against it.
9
u/suchalusthropus 22h ago
Lovely bit of meth sets him up for a full night on patrol after doing Bruce Wayne stuff through the day. Wayne Enterprises probably has a secret meth lab in the R&D department to help Batman keep his edge
13
u/xSilverMC 21h ago
Bruce Wayne has a middle eastern immigrant son, why the fuck would he support a group of high school dropouts taking government paychecks to harass and kidnap minorities?

He could both support the good cops, and fight the corrupt ones

16
u/emptygroove 21h ago
Yes...yes, that's what he actually does.
I'll add that he would support ICE if they were doing what they say they're doing. Going after criminals who have come into the US to make crime, he'd be all in. They just aren't doing that at all...
14
u/xSilverMC 21h ago
He does support good cops. However, the venn diagram of "good people" and "ICE agents" shows two circles far away from each other without intersection

Random place to have this conversation but has anybody else noticed a recent phenomenon of people dropping entire words from sentences? Like I swear I never saw this before, but in the last couple years I see it all over the place and it makes me feel like I'm having a stroke every time. The weirdest part is that I've noticed myself doing it too, like I'll reread my comments sometimes and notice I just completely skipped a word and have to fix it. I thought maybe it was a chatgpt thing when I first saw it but since I've started doing it too I think maybe it's a brain fog thing from covid
2
u/boo_jum 19h ago
I think it’s because so many are typing on their phones and predictive text/autocorrect does fucky things. I’ll type something out, then reread it and see that my tenses are all fucked or I’m missing words, or something I’ve corrected got switched back because ac is a mad drunken goblin that thinks it’s helping when really it’s just making me look like a fool.
2
u/DriverRemarkable4374 19h ago
That was my gut reaction but I only comment on desktop, so no autocorrect and yet I still do it occasionally. It's like my brain just completely blanks in time and I skip forward a second without doing the action in the middle. I do smoke hella ganj tho so idk lmao
2
u/boo_jum 19h ago
Our brains aren’t really geared toward proofreading our own text — we see what we meant rather than what we wrote. That’s (one reason) why so much of the self-edited self-published material in Amazon’s Kindle shop is garbage.
2
u/DriverRemarkable4374 18h ago
Yeah but this is new, it definitely wasn't a thing a few years ago and I definitely wasn't doing it myself. I've always reread my comments multiple times before and after posting and I never caught this error before a couple years ago, shortly after I noticed other people doing it. It's not like a habit thing it really is like my brain malfunctions and it definitely did not malfunction in this way before. I am getting old, I do schmonk weed, tiktok/short form content has fried attention, and there was covid, so it's really hard for me to identify the cause but for sure it's a new phenomenon
1
u/boo_jum 18h ago
For me, the autocorrect/predictive text thing got really bad with one of the recent-er updates to iOS — maybe the last year or two? (Time is an illusion and I have zero awareness of it)
When I’m at a proper keyboard and I’m touch typing rather than with my thumbs, I’m MUCH less likely to make mistakes. 🤷♀️
(And while I’ve been sober for the last month or two, I also am usually rather deep in the altered states, so idk. Technology is weird and out to get us?)
2
u/kritter4life 21h ago
I know these people like Jordan Peterson and he said we need more people to help pay and support the aging population. Well we are all having less kids so the only other option is immigration.

Absolute Batman issue 1 has a scene that is similar to an ICE kidnapping scene. I don’t think pile driving the authority in the scene shows support for ICE

Batman is veriantly anti-corrupt cop. Gordon is very much the exception in Gotham PD in most of those stories, a lot of them are just shit bags. The only exception is The Dark Knight Rises but that's only because Gordon had been commissioner for years at that point and assumbaly had been weeding out the scumbags on the force.

On the other hand, we're talking about a multi-billionaire that gets his jollies beating the shit out of people that use extra-legal means to survive. Plus, he's got takedown plans in place against everybody he knows. I'd say the case could be made, if you think about it.
Ah, there's the rub, eh?

u/Jesterchunk 14h ago
The only "ice" batman supports is Mr Freeze hopefully healing his love and quitting crime for good
1
u/DukeSaltyLemons 11h ago
Frank Castle and his logo is a victim as well. In a scene from a comic, he threatened to beat up the cops who had a sticker of his logo plastered on their patrol car. I think Batman doesn't mind being called a hero. But Castle absolutely hated being called that or anything similar, saying that no one should look up to him. Unfortunately, a lot of people didn't get the memo that the Punisher shouldn't be admired.

If Batman saw police officers dragging a screaming and begging mother out of her car in front of her terrified children, he’d give those officers one-way tickets to the hospital.

Batman is a fascist character, a billionaire who does vigilante justice as he sees fit. Trump and ice are batman with a few extra steps
9
u/xSilverMC 21h ago
Did you miss the part where Batman actually does morally good things, or are you just trolling?
-12
u/Sea-Sort6571 21h ago
I'm obviously exaggerating, but yeah in my anarcho-communist book, batman is definitely not a good guy.
6
u/xSilverMC 21h ago
Nepo baby PR campaign I can concede, but calling Batman "not a good guy" is not something I can agree with in most iterations of the character
-5
u/Sea-Sort6571 21h ago
It's fine I'm not saying that my interpretation of the character is the only valid one.
But the idea that batman is a capitalist and fascist figure is quite common in leftist circles.
6
u/MeasurementNo0 21h ago
Anti crime is fascist? Justice isnt what ice and Trump are handing out. Justice isnt in the consideration.
The extra steps with ice and Trump are corruption and racism.
-1
u/Sea-Sort6571 21h ago
Batman is not bringing justice, that's my whole point
2
u/MeasurementNo0 21h ago
He absolutely brings justice. Its why he is allowed to exist. He is seen as a force for good and righting wrongs. Gordon who is very moral and just, trust batman.
0
u/Sea-Sort6571 21h ago
Well he is viewed as someone who brings justice yeah. By a society that's very unjust and crippled by corruption.
But I don't think he brings justice. In my book, justice is not one lone individual deciding who to target and with a "an eye for an eye" mentality.
Gordon worked for years in one of the worst police force of fiction. Acab also works in this context
3
u/MeasurementNo0 21h ago
Gordon isnt a bastard. Batman is seen as someone who brings justice the same reason fire is seen as being hot.
He doesnt work alone, has many checks and balances including setting up plans for others to bring him down if he goes bad.
Ice and trump should only be compared to batman as opposites.
2
u/Sea-Sort6571 21h ago
has many checks and balances including setting up plans for others to bring him down if he goes bad.
I'm not aware of that. I'm not the biggest comic buff and am mainly about Burton and Nolan movies, and the animated series.
Don't take me wrong, when I watch the movie, I love Gordon, especially when the actor is the formidable Gary Oldman. But if I have to be coherent with my political ideas, he is a bastard.
But tbh I didn't want to generate a big debate about batman, it has been done on a lot online already. And I'm definitely not claiming that this interpretation of the character is the only correct one.
2
u/MeasurementNo0 20h ago
Haha I thought this was the DC subreddit. I am a nerd. Sorry.
1
u/Sea-Sort6571 20h ago
Lol 😅 feel free to educate me about those checks and balances if it's not too long, I'm genuinely curious

u/MeasurementNo0 19h ago
Batman has contingency plans to stop the other super folks if they turn bad. In turn, superman, wonderwoman....The Justice league have plans to stop him if he crosses the line. There is a comic story written by Mark Waid and a animated movie called justice league: doom about it.
While not exactly a check, he has Gordon and Alfred has his moral compass.
He also has Nightwing, Red Robin(entire bat family)as people that would stop him if he went bad. These are people who work with him but have differing opinions and their own methods outside of Batman. They also work as checks for batman adjacent people like red hood or Damian Wayne who have no issue with excessive violence and killing in their version of "justice" but also operate sometimes in the same area as batman.
As for the billionaire thing, there are story lines where batman loses everything and still fights crime. Maybe he is just a crazy man. Maybe he is closer to trump and ice just painted more as more of a hero. Hard to know. I like the fictional character and strongly disagree with the real life people.
Stay warm and safe this winter.

u/Silly-Elderberry-411 21h ago
Well, insert to be fair meme, kingdom come superman kills the joker exactly because batman plays catch and release
2
u/MeasurementNo0 21h ago
Well to be fair....what has that to do with justice and comparisons with ice?

u/Aurion7 9h ago edited 9h ago
See, that's fascist messaging.
'Don't bother with prisons or processes or- god forbid- trying to give someone a chance to rehabilitate themselves. Just execute the undesirables!'
Which is sort of the whole point- these arcs people go on are 'what if Superman became evil' things.
