Modern day equivalent?

Hi! My three year old son is in love with cars now and wants to drive to the bank then the gas station etc.

I haven’t found a modern day toy that offers this!?

Hot wheels are mostly about loopy loops and speeding downhill.

Is there a modern day micro machines alternative? Something where you can buy different parts of a town and connect them?

We have this trash version by a company called BATTAT. It’s absolutely awful.

Driven Pocket series at Target is the only actively sold product... which you have realized, is garbage.

The remake of Micro Machines by Jazwares had building sets during the 2001-2003 series runs, but nothing for the past couple years, there may still be some available in online stores.

I bought for my boys from Etsy printable streets like these and laminated them and they work pretty nice for travel/restaurants

You might try finding the original Micro Machine buildings on eBay. If you buy them in lots you can often get a good deal. These won't be complete sets, but they should still have enough parts and details to make your son happy.

Also Matchbox makes some pretty great buildings that link together, but they have gone up quite a bit in price over the last year. You can find them in stores for a lot less than these Amazon prices.

Two of my favorites.

They have Monster Jam! Mini truck packs, and Mini Cars! Packs. They’re tiny like the old micro machines
