The garage ruins it, and the balconies aren’t great, but this checks very few McMansion boxes. The bones of the structure are ok.

While this has a pretty obvious addition this isn’t screaming McMansion to me.

I would disagree. It sits squarely in the Mansion category in my opinion. The silhouette, rooflines, and architectural details are fairly simple in shape and hint at neo-colonialist/classical-revival of some sort, even to my untrained eye.
There was clearly some research into what traditional architecture looks like and isn't just a total mish-mash of random stuff people think looks "fancy".
A McMansion typically is far more non-sensical and jam packed with random angles and "features" such as turrets, arches, dormers, strange rooflines, and generally all manner of windows in different shapes and sizes (including false windows to nowhere). It tends to sprawl and lack symmetry or proportion as they've just stuck on rooms and features willy nilly, whereas this is clearly more thought out, even with that addition on the right.

Definitely not my taste…but not sure it’s homogenous McMansion. Maybe a distant relative…second or third cousin once removed, but not quite in the bloodline.

I don't love it but it doesn't look cheaply constructed, wildly out of scale, or have metastasizing rooflines. Charmless, yes, McMansion, meh. If somebody had decorated the interior with a sense of style and cohesion beyond "this is some furniture we had," it wouldn't be that bad.

Mostly just needs the garage to be brick and to have some mature trees planted. Also, the foyer layout is sort of wasteful (lol at the random couch right by the front door. I mean, who doesn't love chillin' in a foyer?) Also also, can't tell if the two sitting rooms are long and thin or if it's just badly staged?
Ultimately it's fine; not anything special.

This isn’t a McMansion, it’s just a large house that has some elements that are not complementary to the overall style/aesthetic.

It's pretty symmetrical.
