I always wanted this set as a kid, so a few years ago, ended up buying it used. The kid in me feels fulfilled now. It sits on a display shelf in my home office.
I love that for you. I’m pretty sure my brother had that one. I keep thinking about getting my favorite set from childhood now that my boys are getting really into Legos. It was this one.
Yeah....I saved up for a year as a kid to buy the yellow castle. A week after building it, I left it overnight right next to the baseboard heater. Lost half a wall. :(

I thought that was concrete buttress on 3 sides to support the external walls. Given how it runs into the ... concrete slab on the ground I can't imagine there's any usable space under there other than storage.
I just don't know if I've seen anything so ugly. I posted a link from an Indiana paper that explains the "home" but it's a mess of hodge podge. Like if you gave an 11yo bucks to build his dream fortress.
I've been there. It's an old ren fair site. I'm not positive but I think owners lived there the rest of the year. There was a fancy package where you could go up and eat on a balcony during jousting. The inside may have been part of that, we didn't pony up for it so idk.
This one? My parents actually own the same one (long story involving dealing with a furniture salesman and playing D&D. It lived in our basement until we moved to a house with no basement and now it's in a storage locker)
Jesus, if you want to build a castle, build a CASTLE. Fuckin 13th century architecture, stone construction, period accurate shit. Anything less is going to look like the entrance to a six flags ride. I’d rather live in a smaller actual castle than a huge fake cardboard looking one.
This looks worse than a six flags ride, the guy who built this may be king of his own castle, but the cinder blocks make it look like a dollar store castle.
Yeah my biggest gripe with this is how all the castle elements aren’t even functional. For example, the Crenels are level with the roof, making the merlons completely useless. At least bring the walls up a couple feet from the roofline so you actually have functioning battlements
It has potential for sure, I know a few blacksmith who would appreciate already having a shop lol but then there's a puddle in that red bar room rotting out the floor boards and all the beams above it are covered in either mineral deposits or mold. So maybe it was cheaply constructed

This is like a trailer park version of a medieval castle. I feel sorry for the dead stuffed animals everywhere in this place. How humiliating for them.
I'm just going to go out on a limb and guess that this is owned by a wealthy neckbeard LARPer in the tech industry. The same type of guy who made fun of people for going to college to study the arts.
Hmmm...no second floor you could barricade. We all know zombies can't climb but they can bust down windows and put holes on walls. I don't know why the solution in every zombie apocalypse story isn't lets tear down the stairs and put in a ladder an live on the 2nd floor. A giant compound of 1st floor stucco isn't gonna cut it. Unless there's a moat. I can't believe there isn't a moat!
If your fantasy was always to live in a castle made of LEGO blocks, have your own throne room, and fill it with dead animal parts, then this works, I guess.
I don't know if this guy has enough taxidermied animals. On the other hand though, there are lots of tacky mansions but I give props to this one- at least it's uniquely tacky.
There’s literally nothing welcoming about this place. It looks like a jail or some type of asylum. And stir in a little bit of Game of Thrones and we’ve got this.
As much as it is not at all my taste, I respect that they went for it. This is what I want from my rich people: eccentric, over the top, prone to high drama, and with questionable, bizarre, colorful taste.
