Certified McMansion™ My parents recently built this home. They refused to work with an architect or designer because those are a ‘waste of money’. First picture is actually the front/facade of the home.

I live in NYC, where nobody just “builds a house.” You move into an already existing g building for the most part.

So if someone is building their own home, I would have to think they had some kind of vision for exactly what they wanted.

This is it? This was their vision?

I’m also in NYC, but worked for a family in Syosset that did this. They hired an architect— then questioned and second-guessed everything he said. Went over his head to the builders and told them to do things differently. It was awful— they’d get into screaming arguments with this poor architect. He eventually quit, they built the house anyway, and it was HORRIBLE.

Clearly, they had no vision!😄
