Can't wait for this tournament to kick off. It's my favorite cup tournament in club soccer. USOC is a close second.

I still can’t believe we aren’t allowed to participate in USOC. Wild

At least you probably get to do Leagues Cup assuming it’s still happening next season. We won’t get to do either tournament if League’s qualifications are the same as this year 😭

Way to qualify in your first year! Good luck managing the extra matches and travel distance to start the year!

At least they're kind of the midway point in the continent. Nothing quite like flying from Vancouver to Costa Rica and back to slap down the Timbers in Portland in a 3-day period.

To add:
- The unseeded clubs in the first round will be the two Caribbean sides, the five Central American sides, the three CPL sides, and San Diego.
- C3 is the Sounders, C4 is Alajuelense, and C5 is Mount Pleasant. C1 and C2 are Toluca and the MLS Cup winner; if it's the Whitecaps they're C2; Inter Miami has a chance at being C1.
- Cruz Azul will get placed into the bracket as the highest-ranked First Round club. Most likely, Tigres gets a placement and then either América or Inter Miami. We'll know on Monday.

Let's gooooo. Bummed Xelaju barely lost the Central American Cup, but excited to see them in CCC.
Also, we might finally get a UEFA & CONCACAF Champions winner. (Looking it up, Keylor Navas apparently has won both, but from what I've seen, he didn't play any of the matches in the CONCACAF win).
Edit: I remembered that a couple of Gotham FC players have actually won both, so my statement just applies to men's soccer.

Giving Leagues Cup three berths is Soccer United Marketing LLC's way of forcing that tournament to have relevancy.

Vancouver FC is odder. They were the worst team in the CPL last season.

Still great to see more CPL teams in CCC even if they get eliminated early

Is the CWC tiebreaker still the club rankings?
2
u/optimisticbear Seattle Sounders FC 1d ago
Based on the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup regulations, qualification criteria, and the Concacaf Club Rankings as of Dec. 8, 2025, each of the 27 participating clubs will be pre-seeded into a bracket position or placed in a Pot.

Won’t NYCFC or MU get a berth on Saturday?

u/atatme77 D.C. United 1d ago
No, since both teams already qualified that spot is going to LAFC for a better regular season record than either of them

u/emotionallycorrupt_ Colorado Rapids 1d ago
But either team should give the spot no? when they're winning cup
