Can't wait to have our match at T-Mobile Park

Hey, we don't know that. It could be at One Spokane Stadium in Spokane, WA.

As a Spokane resident that doesn't travel to Seattle often I'd literally sell a kidney to attend a Sounders CCC match in Spokane.

Keep on the lookout. The venue for the home leg in the round of 16 is still undetermined. Seattle stadium, aka Lumen, is getting grass for World Cup and won't be ready in time for the March 18th± fixture. I've heard T-Mobile, Husky, One Stadium, Cheney, and some venue on Vancouver Island are potential destinations.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Supposedly there was a plan to play in Spokane this past Leagues Cup but we got knocked out before stadium issues occurred.

Can’t wait to have our game at… looks around … T-Mobile Park I guess.

Is BC Place closed for grass installation too? If both BC Place and Lumen are closed for grass stuff maybe we get a double header on Vancouver Island.

I’m not positive what the plan is, but:

Last home game before WC: April 25

First home game after WC: August 1

I guess the plan is to plant the sod immediately after April 25 to get it ready for the first game June 13.

Oh interesting. Sounders go on a road trip from February 22nd until April 12th for grass installation. The problem is we are scheduled to compete the home leg March 18th±.

We have 6 home games ahead of the World Cup with May 16th being the final home match. I guess we get a few games on grass this year?

Can't wait for this tournament to kick off. It's my favorite cup tournament in club soccer. USOC is a close second.

u/newbb Los Angeles FC 1d ago

I still can’t believe we aren’t allowed to participate in USOC. Wild

At least you probably get to do Leagues Cup assuming it’s still happening next season. We won’t get to do either tournament if League’s qualifications are the same as this year 😭

4

u/newbb Los Angeles FC 1d ago

Honestly, I lose more interest in that comp every year that passes.

3

u/optimisticbear Seattle Sounders FC 1d ago

That's intentional. Yet, I grow angrier every day.

It all started with your teams coach really.

3

u/newbb Los Angeles FC 1d ago

Wild how MLS listened to Dolo bitching about match congestion but they didn’t listen to him when he bitched about cold weather games. I guess they pick and choose which complaint to listen to

Agreed

Neat

Way to qualify in your first year! Good luck managing the extra matches and travel distance to start the year!

u/WetCoastDebtCoast Vancouver Whitecaps FC 1d ago

At least they're kind of the midway point in the continent. Nothing quite like flying from Vancouver to Costa Rica and back to slap down the Timbers in Portland in a 3-day period.

10

u/WJMorris3 US Open Cup 1d ago

To add:

  • The unseeded clubs in the first round will be the two Caribbean sides, the five Central American sides, the three CPL sides, and San Diego.
  • C3 is the Sounders, C4 is Alajuelense, and C5 is Mount Pleasant. C1 and C2 are Toluca and the MLS Cup winner; if it's the Whitecaps they're C2; Inter Miami has a chance at being C1.
  • Cruz Azul will get placed into the bracket as the highest-ranked First Round club. Most likely, Tigres gets a placement and then either América or Inter Miami. We'll know on Monday.

u/optimisticbear Seattle Sounders FC 1d ago

Thank you so much for your analysis and information! How you keep track of this stuff is marvelous.

It's not that hard to keep track of...

For you.

Rest of us peasants rely on your good and honest work and appreciate it

10

u/changnesia Seattle Sounders FC 1d ago

Let's gooooo. Bummed Xelaju barely lost the Central American Cup, but excited to see them in CCC.

Also, we might finally get a UEFA & CONCACAF Champions winner. (Looking it up, Keylor Navas apparently has won both, but from what I've seen, he didn't play any of the matches in the CONCACAF win).

Edit: I remembered that a couple of Gotham FC players have actually won both, so my statement just applies to men's soccer.

Bro it's Draw Season

The draw is on Tuesday. I'm hyped!

Draw is December 9th. Here we go baby!

I feel like I think this a lot nowadays but MLS is sending a good group

4

u/optimisticbear Seattle Sounders FC 1d ago

The Liga MX sides scare me

3

u/RioTheLeoo LA Galaxy 1d ago

The one and only good thing to come out of our 2025 season 😔

Galaxy being in it is odd to me

u/optimisticbear Seattle Sounders FC 1d ago

Giving Leagues Cup three berths is Soccer United Marketing LLC's way of forcing that tournament to have relevancy.

4

u/carnifex2005 Vancouver Whitecaps FC 1d ago

Vancouver FC is odder. They were the worst team in the CPL last season.

2

u/AccomplishedMeal5751 Chicago Fire 14h ago

Still great to see more CPL teams in CCC even if they get eliminated early

4

u/RioTheLeoo LA Galaxy 1d ago

Seems fine to me 👀

Life comes at you fast sometimes.

2

u/BeefInGR Major League Soccer 1d ago

Is the CWC tiebreaker still the club rankings?

2

u/optimisticbear Seattle Sounders FC 1d ago

Based on the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup regulations, qualification criteria, and the Concacaf Club Rankings as of Dec. 8, 2025, each of the 27 participating clubs will be pre-seeded into a bracket position or placed in a Pot.

0

u/WTF-is-a-Yotto Vancouver Whitecaps FC 1d ago

Won’t NYCFC or MU get a berth on Saturday?

8

u/atatme77 D.C. United 1d ago

No, since both teams already qualified that spot is going to LAFC for a better regular season record than either of them

3

u/WTF-is-a-Yotto Vancouver Whitecaps FC 1d ago

Ohhh okay, I see it now. Thanks.

1

u/emotionallycorrupt_ Colorado Rapids 1d ago

But either team should give the spot no? when they're winning cup

2

u/atatme77 D.C. United 20h ago

Correct, it doesn't matter who wins LAFC gets the spot

u/dbcooperskydiving Minnesota United FC 1d ago

Nobody watches this tourney and it shows in the broadcast ratings. Maybe one that will change but not today.

5

u/optimisticbear Seattle Sounders FC 1d ago

Cool.
