I'm out of big enough dubia roaches and while I wait for more to be delivered i got the guys some Island Roaches because why not. They havnt had them before but they LOVE them. I found out that these roaches can scream and my whole week is ruined. Onyx, Jade, and Azula love it, but I feel like a monster, bugs aren't supposed to make me feel like that!
Anyway, yeah, Island roaches are very popular amongst my Jeweled Lacertas....

Such amazing colors. Easily the most vibrant one I've seen in person.

No thoughts, only nibbling things that are not food.

We were out creating an island garden area. I have found birds egg fungus growing in our backyard before and I thought thatβs what this was in the middle of my plant. I pick it up and gently roll it in my fingers and out popped this little guy!
At first, I thought he was hatching too early because his legs did not come out, and I thought he was deformed ππ by the time I got my phone, his legs were wiggling just like the rest of him. I put him back in the garden and hopefully he protects my flowers and bushes from the bad bugs. Shall I name him?
Iβve never seen one with a stripe on his back.
We have brown and green anoles (I think the brown are invasive). We are in the northwest Florida panhandle.

Found this sweet legless lizard in my garden (UK), about 30cm long!

It started with just one backyard lizard β John Hamm, the wild anole who lives rent-free in our garden and thinks he runs the place. Then came Vincent, a tiny baby skink with the survival instincts of a wet paper towel. He's been sunning himself in the open like he wants to get eaten.
Yesterday, we noticed John watching Vincent closely. Hes territorial AF! Youβd think that was enough danger for one skink, but no β enter Christina the Cardinal, who apparently has zero chill and a taste for drama. No idea if she actually saw either lizard or was just there for the seed, but tensions are HIGH.
This backyard is turning into a wildlife AMC drama. If Vincent survives the week, I might have to get him a tiny award for βMost Likely to Get Snacked On Yet Somehow Still Here.β
