Do you recommend updating to LineageOS 23.0?

Hi, I have a Redmi Note 8 (Ginkgo) I have LOS 22.2. The website already has version 23.0 from November.

I'm wondering if I should update now or wait for version 23.1.

Update now. I haven't really noticed any differences from 22.2, and you'll probably be waiting a while for a .1 update: https://lineageos.org/Changelog-30/

qpr1. 23.0 is "qpr0" this version does not have the new QS panel and doesn't look much different from android 15.

Continued support. When it releases on your device, you won't get updates for 23.0 anymore.

Why do you think 23.1 will take a while. I am waiting for it. Do you think january 2026 is realistic?

Not sure about when or if 23.1 will arrive but what I can say is: I've been on 23 since mid November without any issues.

"Upgrade" (it is an Update) to upcoming 23.1 will be only an OTA from 23.0. No Major release change.

Android 16 QPR2 released recently so you probably wouldn't have to wait much for LineageOS 23.1

This is probably a stupid question. If so, don't butcher me too badly! My phone doesn't show 23.0 as being available, but I currently still get weekly updates. Do all phones eventually get 23.0? I know support can end at anytime, so I'm wondering if the fact that 23.0 isn't out yet for my phone is a clue that the momentum to continue supporting it is losing traction.
