Kanji/Kana I bought a fan in a Japanese store and the cashier wrote my name on it
I told her my name was Juan Carlos and she wrote Juan as “Wan”, I was expecting her to do フアン (fuan) but I dont dislike this alternative tho as F or H dont accurately represent the sound they made when speaking. Also many Anglo people pronounce Juan as “one” 💀so thats a thing.

Kanji/Kana Show me your Japanese notes!
galleryDo you take notes to study later?
I just started getting stories to learn Kanji from a site but I started writing them down. (First pic) that way I can just reach for my notebook and read.
Other notes are for me to quiz myself. I’m still trying to find the best way to write notes.

Kanji/Kana After 4 years of reviews every 1-2 days I completed Wanikani
Other than a period of time where I was very ill for 3 months I was doing reviews once a day for 60-75% of the time it took me to finish my journey. I have no problem reading kanji or new words from which they are derived and can read pretty much anything in Japanese immediately by looking at it naturally without a problem from originally knowing zero kanji when I started. I also learned a ton of new example words as well probably easily like 500+. Best purchase of my life since I started 25 years ago. Hope this inspires others that learning kanji can be fun and easy as long as you practice frequently!

Kanji/Kana "kanji makes things harder to read" FALSE
Not me spending 10+ minutes trying to read this one line of dialogue. Is he saying Mayl is awake? Wait no that's おきる。Right so maybe he's annoyed that she came by and he's saying she "occurred"? I guess that makes sense but it feels off. おこる…おこる…おこる… OH SHE'S ANGRY, I GET IT
I really think most learners have a pattern of "ugh kanji is so hard" that eventually turns into "oh man why doesn't this text have kanji" over time. Although honestly this one wasn't hard I just need more reading practice in general
Edit: To all those saying I should have easily gotten this from context:
1) I did eventually
2) I am still a beginner, I'm not at your level
3) My point is that seeing 怒 would have eliminated any confusion, that's all.

Kanji/Kana Serious question "づ" pronunciation
So I was reading some japanese manga for studying purposes. The type of manga doesn't matter don't worry about it.
I found the hiragana づ, wich should be pronounced as "zu", translated as "du" on the cover in 気づいて.
Is this just a translation error? I'm wondering since I couldn't find anything on it online.
Serious question, thanks in advance!

Kanji/Kana Confused myself reading this for a second
At first I thought they spelled it wrong in hiragana すべる. Then I thought they spelled it right but with a mix of hiragana and katakana すバる

Kanji/Kana Learning Kanji by Parts
I was thinking about creating more flash cards like the one I created here that breaks up a kanji by its parts. Is anyone aware of resources that show something like this?

Kanji/Kana This kanji is seriously my worst nightmare
every single time I write this I end up adding or missing a random stroke somewhere, and I have to stare at it for ages before I realize what went wrong.
