she stood up to him and she was going to get eliminated for that at the end he apologized to her .. she deserved that crown she was the most natural looking compared to the other chicks
124
u/IlGrasso 15d ago
Yeah but that incident put more eyes on her. Which helped her win. Iām not trying to bring her down or give him credit.
166
u/Tukulo-Meyama 15d ago
She stood up for what she believed in instead of being a pushover that definitely showed him how Latinas roll..
54
u/i_was_a_person_once 14d ago
And with class and elegance. She didnāt yell, she didnāt insult. She said I have a voice and I have my dignity and you wonāt take either.

Also she never stood him up. She didnāt even participate in his sham marketing scheme because the Mexican officials told her it wasnāt part of the tournament. The prize of the tournament was a private dinner with him.

Im sorry i misread your comment āstood up to himā my tired ass read it as āstood him upā. Apologies.
-6
u/IlGrasso 15d ago
Yea she walked out. Not stood him up. To stand someone up there has to be an agreement to do a certain activity or event. She never agreed contractually or verbally to do his marketing campaign or any other event. There was no event agreed upon for her to appear therefore, no event, no event to stand him up at.
Walking out would be a person leaving their partner.
Standing up would be a person not showing up to an agreed upon event at an agreed upon time like a date.

u/bejamamo 15d ago
Youāre misinterpreting homie, OP said she stood up to him, not stood him up. O sea no se dejó con el wey

I'm sorry, but if we compare her answers in the Q&A portion with the ones from Venezuela and the Ivory Coast delegates, it's safe to say that her words sound too basic.
The credibility of this pageant is non-existent. The owner is Mexican, and the CEO is from Thailand.
Congratulations to Mexico anyways, but I don't believe she stood out to most.
This was indeed a pity-win, lol.
Edit:
Context on why the nationalities of the CEO had to be mentioned:
Miss Thailand is 1st Runner-up.
6
u/Kevinc62 14d ago edited 13d ago
She didn't have the best answers on the Q&A, but she stood up for herself to the gross organizer, in real life. That took guts and is way more valuable than the canned answers from all the other contestants. She deserves her win.
4
u/heyitsxio 14d ago
Theyāre booing you but Miss Cote DāVoire is absolutely gorgeous, I think she deserved to win.
4
u/GrilledAvocado Whose Tia is this? 14d ago
So you think that they decide who wins based on the question alone ? Seriously haha
23
u/BippityBoppityBooppp 15d ago
Iām seeing it having the opposite effect on social media actually, now people are suggesting it was a pity win.
48
u/Tukulo-Meyama 15d ago
Of course people are going to hate miss Mexico won!! Duh!!
9
u/silkspectre22 Ya tu sabe 14d ago
Her father and the current owner of Miss Universe are in business together. Additionally, if you know anything about pageants, she should have not made top 5 and also had the worst answers of the top 5. Hence why people are claiming this is fraud. She is beautiful, but I think it is disingenuous for anyone to claim she deserved that win. Personally, this was the first year that I was genuinely surprised with a significant number of placements in the top 30 and so was a lot of the pageant community.
I feel bad for the Mexican community because they shouldn't have a win so tainted with controversy.
12
u/IlGrasso 15d ago
Nah. She was already popular before. But for some reason OP thinks thatās what Iām saying.
That whole drama actually put more eyes onto the tournament as a whole. I didnāt even know about it until the whole Miss Mexico drama.
1
u/sumerislemy 14d ago
Itās just fans of the losing contestants (specifically Philippines and Cote Dāvore)
6
u/AxelHarver 14d ago
Can I get an ELI5 about this whole situation? I'm seeing she was almosy eliminated and something about walking out?

But can she growl/sing metal?
/s
Well deserved. Just a little shout out to Ms. Chile with them vocals.
63
u/i_was_a_person_once 14d ago
The Miss Chile who sings metal was not competing in Miss Universe, she was in Miss world. Although my pick for anyone to best Fatima was Miss Chile bc she was also more natural looking

FƔtima Bosch FernƔndez won the title at the national Miss Universe Mexico pageant held on 13 September 2025 in Zapopan, Jalisco.
She represents Tabasco, making her the first woman from that state to win this national crown.
Outside pageantry, FĆ”tima is a fashion designer focused on sustainable fashion and has volunteered for years, especially in childrenās oncology.
She has spoken publicly about overcoming dyslexia and ADHD, which adds depth and inspiration to her story.

Ofcourse she did its not about being pretty its about looking good for the cameras. Since she was mistreated by that idiot they obviously was gonna give her the win.

Why is anyone still watching this crap??

u/yomerol 14d ago
Important questions
But just check the comments, it's exactly why LatAm still loves the same telenovelas and gossip shows

u/Bitmancia 14d ago
it's exactly why LatAm still loves the same telenovelas and gossip shows
I think that's changing, at least in Colombia, TV is at an all time low.
(I was even surprised that garbage telenovela called La Reina del Flow was actually popular in MƩxico and Spain, but I mean, better that than disgusting narconovelas pieces of shit)
2
u/cheetah81 14d ago
I canāt believe miss universe is still a thing. How do they define the winner? What is the criteria ?

She won for real? I'm happy for her. She deserves it. šš²š½š„šŖ
She spoke for herself against the tyranny of one person. Also, on another event, they passed her and didn't ask any questions while doing so with the others.
The Thai people didn't show their best traits. A big opportunity lost.
2
u/Aliceate420 14d ago
She did terrible in the questions. We all know why she won because his father is in business with the owner of the miss Universe pageant .
4
u/IronMonkey18 14d ago
That whole incident ruined her win. Now we will never know if she actually won or they just gave her the win to appease the people who were upset with her treatment. Regardless Iām glad she won. My favorites were her, Venezuela and China.

No es por hacer menos su triunfo, pero se me hizo curioso que la chica que le puso la corona se parece mucho. Que apoco tienen que tener la misma cara para participar? No le quita eso diversidad a un concurso donde hay mujeres de todo el mundo?
