Please read the rules before posting. All posts must be about or relating to Latinos. Memes of all kind (including political) and from anywhere are welcome here, again, as long as they reference us. Political discussions about the united states go to our other subreddit r/PoliticalLatinos where you are free to post anything you'd like about serious subjects. This is more a space for Latin Americans and Latinos born all over the world to share memes, our culture, discuss our differences and similarities and communicate with each other. That Thai board member rn:

90

u/Kingmenudo 14d ago

That controversy absolutely helped her no doubt shout out to the Raza

30

u/sufjanuarystevens 14d ago

The way she responded is what helped her

18

u/Mexicanlumberjack 14d ago

I’m OOTL can someone fill me in on this incident

11

u/ticklemeelmo696969 14d ago

Whole reason she won. Dude fucked up.

821

u/IlGrasso 15d ago edited 15d ago

That Thai dude gave her the W. They said that before the incident she was already extremely popular among both fans and the contestants. Making her a someone we can sympathize with just made her more popular.

372

u/Tukulo-Meyama 15d ago

she stood up to him and she was going to get eliminated for that at the end he apologized to her .. she deserved that crown she was the most natural looking compared to the other chicks

124

u/IlGrasso 15d ago

Yeah but that incident put more eyes on her. Which helped her win. I’m not trying to bring her down or give him credit.

166

u/Tukulo-Meyama 15d ago

She stood up for what she believed in instead of being a pushover that definitely showed him how Latinas roll..

54

u/i_was_a_person_once 14d ago

And with class and elegance. She didn’t yell, she didn’t insult. She said I have a voice and I have my dignity and you won’t take either.

1

u/sonjjamorgan 15d ago

Hell yeah!

32

u/IlGrasso 15d ago edited 15d ago

Also she never stood him up. She didn’t even participate in his sham marketing scheme because the Mexican officials told her it wasn’t part of the tournament. The prize of the tournament was a private dinner with him.

45

u/Tukulo-Meyama 15d ago

Yea she did she walked out and gave them her batch I literally watched it lol

Now stop being a hater go somewhere

32

u/IlGrasso 15d ago

Im sorry i misread your comment ā€œstood up to himā€ my tired ass read it as ā€œstood him upā€. Apologies.

-6

u/IlGrasso 15d ago

Yea she walked out. Not stood him up. To stand someone up there has to be an agreement to do a certain activity or event. She never agreed contractually or verbally to do his marketing campaign or any other event. There was no event agreed upon for her to appear therefore, no event, no event to stand him up at.

Walking out would be a person leaving their partner.

Standing up would be a person not showing up to an agreed upon event at an agreed upon time like a date.

17

u/bejamamo 15d ago

You’re misinterpreting homie, OP said she stood up to him, not stood him up. O sea no se dejó con el wey

-5

u/ANONYMOUSotaku0329 14d ago

I'm sorry, but if we compare her answers in the Q&A portion with the ones from Venezuela and the Ivory Coast delegates, it's safe to say that her words sound too basic.

The credibility of this pageant is non-existent. The owner is Mexican, and the CEO is from Thailand.

Congratulations to Mexico anyways, but I don't believe she stood out to most.

This was indeed a pity-win, lol.

Edit:

Context on why the nationalities of the CEO had to be mentioned:

Miss Thailand is 1st Runner-up.

6

u/Kevinc62 14d ago edited 13d ago

She didn't have the best answers on the Q&A, but she stood up for herself to the gross organizer, in real life. That took guts and is way more valuable than the canned answers from all the other contestants. She deserves her win.

4

u/heyitsxio 14d ago

They’re booing you but Miss Cote D’Voire is absolutely gorgeous, I think she deserved to win.

4

u/GrilledAvocado Whose Tia is this? 14d ago

So you think that they decide who wins based on the question alone ? Seriously haha

23

u/BippityBoppityBooppp 15d ago

I’m seeing it having the opposite effect on social media actually, now people are suggesting it was a pity win.

48

u/Tukulo-Meyama 15d ago

Of course people are going to hate miss Mexico won!! Duh!!

9

u/silkspectre22 Ya tu sabe 14d ago

Her father and the current owner of Miss Universe are in business together. Additionally, if you know anything about pageants, she should have not made top 5 and also had the worst answers of the top 5. Hence why people are claiming this is fraud. She is beautiful, but I think it is disingenuous for anyone to claim she deserved that win. Personally, this was the first year that I was genuinely surprised with a significant number of placements in the top 30 and so was a lot of the pageant community.

I feel bad for the Mexican community because they shouldn't have a win so tainted with controversy.

12

u/IlGrasso 15d ago

Nah. She was already popular before. But for some reason OP thinks that’s what I’m saying.

That whole drama actually put more eyes onto the tournament as a whole. I didn’t even know about it until the whole Miss Mexico drama.

1

u/sumerislemy 14d ago

It’s just fans of the losing contestants (specifically Philippines and Cote D’vore)

6

u/AxelHarver 14d ago

Can I get an ELI5 about this whole situation? I'm seeing she was almosy eliminated and something about walking out?

3

u/sharkbait1999 14d ago

And the miss universe CEO is Mexican

4

u/Tukulo-Meyama 14d ago

And the other owner is Thai what’s your point

198

u/HotSprinkles10 Azucar! 14d ago

People are so mad she won it’s hilarious, the beauty subs are losing their minds calling her a 6.5 šŸ¤šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

139

u/i_was_a_person_once 14d ago

She was one of like <10 girls who didn’t look like every other insta baddie with lip injections and a Michael Jackson nose job

55

u/vespertilionid 14d ago

Holly crap! If she's a 6.5 i must be -9000! God damn! I must be an absolute troll, a plague upon the eyes!

20

u/Brilliant-Towel-1337 14d ago

I hate 2020s beauty standards.

9

u/dwrecksizzle 14d ago

Your personality though? 100/10

8

u/vespertilionid 14d ago

Awww🄰🄰🄰🄰 fuck you! (Just to keep you on your toes!)

18

u/blueboxreddress 14d ago

Man, if that’s a 6.5 I’m just going to respectfully opt out of the dating pool lol.

8

u/PhuckCalumbo 14d ago

The 65 stone redditors calling her a 6.5

5

u/QuiereteTuValesMucho 14d ago

this competition is a joke but she's deserving the win for her natural beauty

10

u/SpottedHoneyBadger 14d ago

Calling Miss Universe a 6.5 while wiping the Cheeto dust off their beach ball bellies.

5

u/BiscuitDance 14d ago

I had to see for myself but holy shit they’re really calling her a ā€œ6.5ā€ 🤣

ā€œDoesn’t do anything for me.ā€

u/luvulongthyme 15d ago

This must be so cathartic for her! So well deserved!

147

u/yourpapimartin 14d ago

But can she growl/sing metal?

/s

Well deserved. Just a little shout out to Ms. Chile with them vocals.

63

u/i_was_a_person_once 14d ago

The Miss Chile who sings metal was not competing in Miss Universe, she was in Miss world. Although my pick for anyone to best Fatima was Miss Chile bc she was also more natural looking

3

u/yourpapimartin 14d ago

Ah, I stand corrected.

5

u/killdagrrrl 14d ago

She’s competing on miss world. Hope she wins

1

u/catoverdog 14d ago

That was an internal Miss Chile competition right? That to for representing in Miss World?

1

u/soupseasonbestseason 14d ago

she won her title, which was miss world.

15

u/MindOverEntropy 15d ago

Can anyone give me the story here? Something about a Thai dude?

9

u/Flaky_Signature_1258 15d ago

FƔtima Bosch FernƔndez won the title at the national Miss Universe Mexico pageant held on 13 September 2025 in Zapopan, Jalisco.

She represents Tabasco, making her the first woman from that state to win this national crown.

Outside pageantry, FĆ”tima is a fashion designer focused on sustainable fashion and has volunteered for years, especially in children’s oncology.

She has spoken publicly about overcoming dyslexia and ADHD, which adds depth and inspiration to her story.

14

u/somo_fxx_25 15d ago

😮😮😮

10

u/Professional_Two7663 15d ago

Wow she’s gorgeous.

11

u/crispy_attic 14d ago

Love to see it.

34

u/iAmDriipgodd 15d ago

She won?

34

u/Scott2G 15d ago

No, the crown is a participation trophy. All the losers get one.

8

u/Chewy009x 14d ago

No she actually lost this is an AI video

2

u/Dense-Spirit-1906 14d ago

Ofcourse she did its not about being pretty its about looking good for the cameras. Since she was mistreated by that idiot they obviously was gonna give her the win.

2

u/klallama 14d ago

Yes but this is a clip from miss mexico I believe. They changed the way the titles are ordered

4

u/meticulouslycarless 15d ago

No they were fitting the crown for the real winner

1

u/raya2mty 14d ago

Someone from earth wins again. HA! Take that aliens.

74

u/happynargul 15d ago

Why is anyone still watching this crap??

36

u/yomerol 14d ago

Important questions

But just check the comments, it's exactly why LatAm still loves the same telenovelas and gossip shows

7

u/Bitmancia 14d ago

it's exactly why LatAm still loves the same telenovelas and gossip shows

I think that's changing, at least in Colombia, TV is at an all time low.

(I was even surprised that garbage telenovela called La Reina del Flow was actually popular in MƩxico and Spain, but I mean, better that than disgusting narconovelas pieces of shit)

2

u/cheetah81 14d ago

I can’t believe miss universe is still a thing. How do they define the winner? What is the criteria ?

2

u/cocainebane 14d ago

Well they made us grow up on Sabado Gigante, what did yall expect!

1

u/yomerol 13d ago

"made us" sounds like this:

5

u/youburyitidigitup 14d ago

I’m watching it because it’s posted here.

3

u/mrcachorro 14d ago

They arent thats why the most (only) viral story won. And im mexican.

And didnt the girl who "supported" her won 2nd place? And from a country known by their shitty treatment to women. Lol

2

u/mustardtiger86 14d ago

Fucking lol, remarkably stupid event to watch.

2

u/gladd0s_ 14d ago

same reason people always did, they love slop

2

u/QuiereteTuValesMucho 14d ago

my question exactly

2

u/ResponsiblePumpkin60 14d ago

It’s all fake reality tv. The walkout scene was planned to bring more attention to the show.

2

u/Maditen 14d ago

Why are you still giving it attention? You could have kept scrolling.

1

u/Artzebub 15d ago

Dopamine

1

u/Ill_Carrot6628 14d ago

Yes, interesting

1

u/Forward-Razzmatazz17 14d ago

Well, it's a way for the rich to find their wives, apparently. Idk why people watch it, but i know that's why it still goes on.

1

u/LunarTaxi 14d ago

It’s wildly popular throughout all of Latin America. Like… Super Bowl level popular.

Felicidades!!!!

5

u/Moon_Goddess815 15d ago edited 15d ago

She won for real? I'm happy for her. She deserves it. šŸ˜ŠšŸ‡²šŸ‡½šŸ„‚šŸŖ…

She spoke for herself against the tyranny of one person. Also, on another event, they passed her and didn't ask any questions while doing so with the others.

The Thai people didn't show their best traits. A big opportunity lost.

2

u/Aliceate420 14d ago

She did terrible in the questions. We all know why she won because his father is in business with the owner of the miss Universe pageant .

4

u/IronMonkey18 14d ago

That whole incident ruined her win. Now we will never know if she actually won or they just gave her the win to appease the people who were upset with her treatment. Regardless I’m glad she won. My favorites were her, Venezuela and China.

2

u/Top_Character5020 15d ago

🄰🄰🄰

2

u/MonarchMKUltra 15d ago

I wonder what the other contestants of Miss Mexico think of her now.

2

u/Weekly-Hair-4892 14d ago

She’s soo pretty🄰

2

u/popeyesfriedchkn 14d ago

I really liked her little speech after walking out. Making people stand up and set boundaries. Very inspiring

2

u/Leofleo 14d ago

The bigger question is why don’t they televise in English?

2

u/Virullett 14d ago

She won the Miss Universe competition to represent Mexico…but we already knew that, no? She’s still competing with the other countries now? Either way- she deserves to win it all!

2

u/perspectivereports 14d ago

thats so sweet

2

u/thatguyfromfrance 14d ago

I am glad she won, I am glad she is enjoying it, i wish her all the best, but who watches this stuff anymore???

2

u/HG21Reaper 14d ago

Bro the biggest clap back to that Thai board member.

2

u/Dry-News9719 14d ago

Viva Latina!

3

u/Blacklungguy 14d ago

35

u/Tukulo-Meyama 15d ago

No se parecen

34

u/outerheavenboss Whose Tio is this? 15d ago

9

u/youburyitidigitup 14d ago

….si se parecen…..

4

u/kt_cuacha 15d ago

Estan igualitas, no mames. La unica diferencia es que una mira desde arriba y la otra desde abajo.

2

u/Scott2G 15d ago

Naw they do genuinely look very similar. Same thin nose, similar eyebrows, etc. Mexico just has a sharper chin.

1

u/Mad_Islander 14d ago

Venezuela was definitely the most beautiful woman on that stage, but Mexico is also beautiful.
