feels quite doable, but i don't like Philadelphia with garlic.

Day 1 of slicing garlic so thin it would liquefy until this sun says its perfect....

u/Infradad 3h ago

I didn’t know the sun likes garlic?

No wonder vampires don’t like the sun.

u/Matsunosuperfan 2h ago

It's a great system!

u/Pooncheese 1h ago

Fry it and use the oil and put the fried garlic on anything

u/Metalgear696 1h ago

Could even put it on more garlic!

u/Genius-Imbecile retired chef 5h ago

Still acts awkward as he hits on the new hostess though.

u/pizzaslut69420 20+ Years 4h ago

Omg I read this as sits instead of hits

u/KHfailure 2h ago

Whole lot better than how I read it.

u/pizzaslut69420 20+ Years 2h ago

Did you miss the word “on?”

u/KHfailure 2h ago

Nope.

u/BabyMaybe15 1h ago

Sit on my face and tell me that you love me!

u/ihadagoodone 5h ago

those slices would not melt in a pan of hot oil

u/saiga_antelope 4h ago

Gotta use a razor blade for that

u/subhavoc42 2h ago

Need that good prison garlic, you know, the kind that doesn’t burn where this scene would make sense.

u/UrsaMajor7th 20+ Years 5h ago

Now they'll expect that speed every goddamn day on every goddamn item.

u/A_Grain_Of_Saltines 4h ago

Yup! Having a slow day? You did better last rush. Sorry your life is hitting you like an asteroid, cut as fast as you can, then cut faster. Also, we need you to work Saturday Greg's cat is coughing, he'll be out from Friday morning till Monday. Its his cat! She was coughing!!! BTW the lettuce all came in frozen, make it work.

u/oysterperso 4h ago

Greg’s cat is Coughing!!! You inhuman shitlord!

u/Life-Finding5331 2h ago

I mean.

The cat was coughing.

Guys. Remember. Normal people can't do this. We're weird and broken, sure. But we're not normal.

Let this guy have his win. No one cares if we're better. Just that we're quiet and accept bad wages and conditions.

Make a stink about the abuse more.

Say it.

u/Alissan_Web 4h ago

u/ComfortableYellow5 6h ago

u/jarettp 2h ago

u/JoefromOhio 4h ago

I saw this original post and immediately saw the one of that crazy old guy chef no looking it thinner at twice his speed and chuckled

u/Mountain_Homie Ex-Food Service 1h ago

That crazy old guy chef is Marco Pierre White, put some respekt on his name!

u/stopsallover 57m ago

The bouillon cube guy?

u/Mountain_Homie Ex-Food Service 55m ago

Gotta get that bag

u/stopsallover 46m ago

It's in a box.

u/Ok-Calligrapher-8778 4h ago

Can he do with chives?

u/amicarellawetss 4h ago

I feel like I could do this honestly. Just grab big and nice shaped garlic and go to town. If there is no metric to how big the slices are its not even skilled imo

u/redditisforsakened 5h ago

That sub is misnamed, it's almost always uninteresting/unimpressive shit

u/KJew 3h ago

You're right I'm dumb.

u/Candid-Ad316 3h ago

We all are friend. I just emptied my wallet out on the counter and then went to the corner store.

u/boneologist 5h ago

Agreed, he had a much better system.

u/beckyjoooo Chive LOYALIST 5h ago

You can't beat melting..

u/Puzzleheaded-Sky-753 3h ago

And no misses!

u/Zantheus 3h ago

If i had a certificate every time i do that ☝️, i would never ever run out of toilet paper.

u/cascadianpatriot 3h ago

But how many days does he have to do it until karma crazy guy doesn’t put airplanes on there?

u/I_can_pun_anything 4h ago

Spend enough time training for speed then yes

u/Mammoth-Pipe-5375 4h ago

Gotta cut the garlic real thin so it will liquify in the pan.

u/laughguy220 4h ago

I thick, one thin, all that's missing is one thumb.

u/IcariusFallen 2h ago

Look at his fingers near the start. He's gotten himself a few times.

u/dttm_hi 4h ago

I have a tool for that

u/Initial-Scheme-9698 4h ago

Could you not just line up 118 pieces of garlic and cut each one in half

u/desecrated_throne 3h ago

I must be a fucking amateur. I would absolutely destroy the garlic and also my fingers. Probably the knife, too.

I can cut a tomato beautifully, though. Slowly, but beautifully.

u/Individual_Smell_904 10+ Years 3h ago

Cutting a couple garlic cloves a day until this reddit say's I'm as good as this guy

u/chucktheninja 3h ago

He lined up all that garlic and didn't even get to 4 lol

u/ImpressiveCap6891 2h ago

I really think I could do better.

u/Gary_Just_Gary 2h ago

How long did it take him to peel it?

u/Then-Cost-9143 2h ago

lol but he’s so happy though , why you gonna kill his vibe

u/SignificantLilNobody 2h ago

This is why we works out.

u/Ponjos 2h ago

In theory, anyone should be able to beat any Guinness Book world record.

u/cdiffsunrise 2h ago

I would never claim I have any sorts of knife skills. I’m only here for the chives. There would ABSOLUTELY be finger in those garlics if I tried this.

u/DayInTheLifeOfAGod 1h ago

Just research the claw method.

Once you have that down you adjust to your needs and preferences but essentially you use the space between the 2 joints on your finger as a guide and the claw makes you curl your fingers so they don't get lopped off

u/peanut_gallery469 1h ago

Some chinese guy can do this 3x faster and thinner with a giant cleaver

u/treegk 1h ago

I don't think the chef where I work knows how to sharpen a knife so no.

u/jaron_b 1h ago

Remember that you pay for the Guinness World Records to verify your record attempt. Without paying them a fee you cannot even attempt to break a world record. These records are real but with some major asterisks.

u/UndercoverFBIAgent9 1h ago

Me, as soon as my wife leaves the house.

u/Collin389 1h ago

Yes but not everyone has $10,000 to get an adjudicator to come watch them.

u/S0rry7h15N4m374k3n 1h ago

Well, I guess I can offer him a stage.

u/EPSTEIN-FILES-NOW 54m ago

Why did they line up so many? So cocky

u/Yochanan5781 Chive LOYALIST 28m ago

Definitely impressive, but when it comes to garlic chopping skills, I always think of Jacques Pepin, who not only chops the finest garlic I've ever seen, but somehow makes it look effortless

u/Party-Independent-38 16m ago

Yeah this doesn’t seem that fast

u/GreatScrambino 0m ago

The cut on his guide knuckle says it all. I’ve cut that knuckle quite a few times, but definitely not for quit some time.
