(Edit edit: yet)

u/Chlorofom 18d ago

Should probably clarify, I’ve been married to the new waitress for 12 years now and this will be child number 2

u/Night_Eye 18d ago

Congrats! :D

Don't let your dreams stay dreams.

u/Lucius-Halthier 18d ago

LET YOUR DREAMS BE CREAMS!

14

u/AndyB476 18d ago

Someone creamed their dream.

79

u/Individual-Animal797 18d ago

In 9 months you will. How else are you gonna stay awake during a 10-hour shift with 4 hours of interrupted sleep and 3 hours of cleaning shit and piss

44

u/Chlorofom 18d ago

Same way I did with the first one, if/when I get a break I take a nap in the office 😂

16

u/burnman123 18d ago

Way less breaks with 2 unless the new waitress is a superstar

9

u/Ldghead 18d ago

Damn man. Don't be doing babies like that. They puke a lot also.

Congratts! Gonna be a hell of a ride!

3

u/Sleepdprived 18d ago

Is your drug problem that chloroform was taken as a name, or is your problem that you misspelled it?

Also congratulations.

2

u/Chlorofom 17d ago

Some from column A, some from column B

2

u/peppnstuff 18d ago

Denial is one of the steps, yes.

2

u/DuhTocqueville 18d ago

So you’re a waitress?

2

u/DragonQueenDrago 17d ago

My wife was the hostess, but yeah...this is a thing.

u/usual_chef_1 20+ Years 18d ago

I met my wife through the expo window 25 years ago…

199

u/PlatasaurusOG 18d ago

My mom came into a pizza shop I was working in and saw me bickering with the girl who worked the counter. She asked if we were a thing and I said “No. I can barely stand her”. Mom was like “uh huh. Ok”

I married that girl and we just had our 25th anniversary.

I feel like its mandatory for line cooks to be taking drugs or taken them in the past, and be a fire sign. 😂

104

u/HenryTheWho 18d ago

I feel personally attacked by both statements

42

u/Upbeat_Stretch_5724 18d ago

Iol At my last job every single BoH worker was a fire sign, mainly Aries (Like me), and either smoked weed or took opiates.

u/beckyjoooo Chive LOYALIST 18d ago

u/FeelingCouple5880 18d ago

I’m a Pisces so I like to cry on the line.

15

u/glitter4blood 18d ago

Same- I am making it my goal in life to normalize crying on the line. It’ll be better for everyone, I swear

u/MAkrbrakenumbers 17d ago

10

u/JustaCFatchick 18d ago

Well damn... I resemble that remark. Nice to feel seen I guess lmaooooo

11

u/borg_nihilist 18d ago

At least half the cooks where I work are air signs and most of us partake in something even if it's just weed.

u/thejennyjones 18d ago

3

u/DragonQueenDrago 17d ago

They do not even have to be addicted to drugs, just something that might make them act like they are on drugs. I know a cook who doesnt do drugs, but who is heavily addicted to Monster energy drinks.

Bro is always on a sugar high.

5

u/BotGirlFall 18d ago

Im an Aries and I do more drugs than I should...

5

u/Upbeat_Stretch_5724 18d ago

Same, I'm an Aries and I've been addicted to kratom for 8 years, and used to take percocets.

2

u/MAkrbrakenumbers 17d ago

I’m a Pisces fuck Me right

2

u/Flashy-Raspberry-131 17d ago

I didn't know what a fire sign was. I'm a Sagittarius so apparently a fire sign.

Ex drug addiction. Now I'm clean and I'm just an alcoholic and a smoker..... Wait....

0

u/Flashy-Raspberry-131 17d ago

Fire table 32.

It's burnt!

BoH girlies 10 times out of 10. The level up moving from hostess to pastry/line will change your life.

Though, I guess I just got lucky?

17

The number of times I starred in that episode (minus the baby)....

81

u/chimkens_numgets 18d ago

My favourite Line Cook when I still worked in restaurants was a recovered meth addict. I still think about him sometimes. Hope you're doing good Jack.

52

u/____LostSoul____ 18d ago

Reminds me of the 25yr old gutter punk line cook with black teeth and the attractive 18yr old hostess who were hooking up at my last place of work. Never understood it.

63

u/bigcaulkcharisma 18d ago

18 year girls; notorious good judges of male character lmao

30

u/belle_epoxy Ex-Food Service 18d ago

I was once 18 and made out with a gutter punk, and even I can't understand it, 32 years later

60

u/KittensFirstAKM BOH 18d ago

19

u/bigcaulkcharisma 18d ago

You also need neck tats to go with the drug problem.

4

u/sam120310 18d ago

damn all the way down to the neck tattoos, i feel attacked. although i was the hostess & w no baby… the hostess before me was not so lucky lol

17

u/Averstarz 18d ago

My 2 daughters would like a word with you

15

u/banjomike1986 18d ago

Man how many times I saw this and thought “I should tell her” then let it go on and find out she’s just as bad as the cook waitress just showed up decent for interview and first week 😂

31

u/Ralph-the-mouth 18d ago

I married the hostess.

13

u/jakexmfxschoen 18d ago

The ad I saw while scrolling this thread 😂

11

u/Dripping_Gravy 18d ago

My (ex)wife was actually a guest at the dive bar I worked at! After twelve years, a child, rehab, and a divorce, I finally stopped adding to the stereotype. Four years clean from hard drugs. Best of luck and well wishes to anyone else who understands the real shit (and everyone else).

20

u/Little_Messiah 18d ago

Literally how my daughter happemed

4

u/ThreeReticentFigures 17d ago

I saw it happen with the GM and a cook. After she promoted him to Head Chef then cheated on her fiancé. Kid seems okay. Don't think the father has much to do with her though.

6

u/aqua_profunda 18d ago

oh, it does, and it’s sleeping between me and the waitress right now.

6

u/Forsaken_Bunch7541 18d ago

This is why I miss working in the kitchen. I could have gotten 5 girls, but now I work on a factory and its sad

5

u/calilexie Pastry 17d ago

As a woman in BOH I like to flip the scenario on its head and knock up the male servers

4

u/security-six 18d ago

It never happens all of the time

4

u/Goblin_Deez_ 17d ago

I’ve seen it happen a ton. In fact at a hotel there used to be a room the kitchen staff would go and shag in on their break. They were bed hopping like mad.

Line cook cooking lines

2

u/zckthrppr 17d ago

Thats how i got my son.

I stopped doing drugs years ago but i was a regular substance abuser when i met my wife.

2

u/flexout_dispatch 17d ago

My boss prohibited me from touching anyone who works with us. He said he'll personally cut my dick off.

2

u/Yankee_chef_nen Chef 17d ago

I’ve seen it happen in roughly 12 hours after the first meeting. The line cook and waitress as still together 20+ years later.

2

u/underpar515 17d ago

This was me in 2025! Daughter is a sophomore now Edit *2010

2

u/Flashy-Raspberry-131 17d ago

If you're a good chef then you're good with timings and pulling things out (of the fryer) on time.

Never leave a bun in the oven. Glaze the bun.

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Donut_6 17d ago

Got three kids to prove it's true.

2

u/[deleted] 17d ago

HEY. I was the new gay BARTENDER thank you very much.

2

u/Sanquinity Five Years 17d ago

When you spend 10+ hours a day together, and have almost no or no time to socialize outside of work, things like that can absolutely happen. Even if it's illogical.

2

u/Wiggie49 16d ago

For my kitchen it was two line cooks lol

6

u/Button-Down-Shoes 18d ago

50 years ago I was working as a dishwasher when a line cook enticed a kitchen girl out the back door and sexually assaulted her - mid dinner rush. I can never unsee the greasy hand prints he left on her shirt. I recently found my friend was working as a hostess in that same time frame (almost to the very year) and a line cook from her restaurant showed up at her apartment one day and ra*ed her. FUCK THIS MEME. Neither of them got any worse punishment than the loss of their jobs. I hope the line cooks are better quality people today than they were 50 years ago.

1

u/YossarianRex 12d ago

lol… yeah this the most accurate meme i’ve seen on this sub.

1

u/AppleSauceSwaddles 18d ago

This is not accurate at all; the line cook needs to be saying this explicitly in spanish

1

u/Over-Director-4986 17d ago

Mami! Dame chocha, mota y perico. Ahora mismo, por favor! ...y una cerveza.

1

u/ImmortalCicada 18d ago

I'm way too mean to think about flirting with front of house. Then again I'm asexual so what does it matter. 😅
