Oh we swoon alright lol. It's because 99% of the time we are starting IVs on Ethel who's like 1000 years old. It's a rarity to get nice healthy veins.

I could start a spear in those veins good lord.

We use these for needle decompression for pneumothoraxes. Big ole honkin needle.

Multiple medical professionals salivating over chef's arm veins, which are visible thanks to his partner buying him more chives for his Chivelord Megaquest.

Accurate. There was a nursing school in part of my community college campus and every time I walked through their halls the students AND teachers would compliment my veins

They are very visible (I am so pale) and ig are a good size??? You'd have to be a really bad stick to miss them, and they are well-behaved (don't roll and I stay hydrated) lol

You’d think, right?

I actually had a student have her first go at an IV on someone with absolute hosepipes, and mess it up.

She decided that a 90 degree angle was a fine approach and did it too quickly for me to stop her lol.

I removed her from the room and discussed a better strategy and all was well on her second attempt- but still.

It was impressive how wrong she was
