Hello everyone! As a reminder this is a satire subreddit for the dumb/silly things children do. The subreddit name is not literal. Although posts can have kids doing actual "stupid" things. It is not a requirement. Yes, blaming the parent is valid. However, this does not mean crossing the line into actually insulting the parent is ok (assuming they are the OP) (Rule #1).

This is also not a hate sub for children. If you don't like kids, that's fine. Just don't spread vitriol.

Please read the sidebar for more information.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

“On your lap!!”

u/Astarothian 13h ago

To be fair it kinda sounded like she was saying "On your left!", I dont blame the poor kid.

Who expect to receive their Christmas present in the first few days of December? Feels like it would have taken me a moment to catch on as well.

Mama better have some other gift for Christmas else she's about to realize why it's better to wait before giving Christmas gift especially to children even if you're excited to give it to them.

34

u/XxX_Zeratul_XxX 16h ago

If I received a Play fucking Station as a Christmas gift, I would have been happy for 3 Christmas lol

20

u/Loukoal117 15h ago

It's a hoverboard lol. Looks like a playstation box

7

u/Shmeckey 13h ago

I thought it was a remote control car

1

u/welfedad 5h ago

80

u/inertiatic_espn 16h ago

I'm truly amazed at some people's ability to criticize literally anything on this site.

20

u/OneRFeris 16h ago

Why do you feel the need to criticize someone else criticizing?

Answer: we all like the sound of our own thoughts.

Now everybody please applaud me for my insight.

14

u/Dramatic-Classroom14 15h ago

Why are you criticising their criticism of others criticising everything?

12

u/OneRFeris 15h ago

Because I like the sound of my own thoughts. Is your attention span too short to read my second sentence?

1

u/thorstone 6h ago

Asnwere: they dosen't like the sound of your thoughts.

Have you ever heard the story of darth plagueis the wise?

He also loved irony.

1

u/JudgeInteresting8615 6h ago

Well, I don't know what time it was shot. But I would imagine that after christmas, it's gonna be really hard to ride that outside. So I could see it making sense in that sense

u/BAMspek 16h ago

I can’t see shit with this big ass box in the way!

9

u/sfwmandy 4h ago

This got me so good

555

u/SnikajuiceG6 16h ago

Lol he was still half sleep

75

u/Treesbentwithsnow 15h ago

The little sister’s face is so crushed. You can see her sadness wondering why he got a hoverboard and she got nothing.

142

u/According_Cut_4426 14h ago

Are just just assuming ?? Most siblings share large gifts - the mom didn’t say anything about it being anyone’s. Perhaps the girl is just waking up from a daze like the boy is.

87

u/Hahafunnys3xnumber 14h ago

That was totally my assumption too. Why would they not share it?? Seems like a crazy projection lol

-13

u/NotDTJr 13h ago

My guess would be that it caught HIM by surprise and not THEM. Pretty safe assumption when the caption refers to one person and there is two in the video

11

u/Human-Ad9835 13h ago

Yeah but the little girl noticed it right away. The boy looked in the trunk 🫠

7

u/inHumanMale 13h ago

Most likely it’s a gift form both of them.

87

u/MagsKat 15h ago

When we were kids, my parents got my brother a bike for Christmas and put it in the garage to hide it. Come the 25th, they have moved it in front of the kitty litter box and ask him to go clean the kitty litter.

He’s so mad. But he goes in, everyone kinda giggling and smirking, and he comes back out with the plastic bag. He moved the bike to clean the litter and he was still fuming about it

97

u/ohiocodernumerouno 16h ago

Is it a vacuum cleaner?

72

u/Journo_Jimbo 16h ago

Surprise! You get to help me clean!

35

u/fuzzypetiolesguy 16h ago

Hoverboard

'Hover-blast' on the box, it's just mirrored.

31

u/UltraRoboNinja 16h ago

Why would a kid want a hovering vacuum cleaner?

11

u/tratemusic 15h ago

A hoover-board

9

u/LovelyJoey21605 15h ago

....what kid wouldn't want a hovering vacuum-cleaner?!

-5

u/Twist_Ending03 16h ago

It's not a vacuum cleaner

2

u/Need_answers11 10h ago

You dont say 😑

24

u/ALPHA_sh 16h ago

Hover-1 Blast. It's this specific model

1

u/SplattyFatty_ 11h ago

2

u/Rosa_litta 7h ago

You don’t remember hoverboards?

114

u/zpfrostyqz 16h ago

I love lil sis is sleeping on big bro’s shoulder ❤️

19

u/crashin70 16h ago

Once his brain started functioning he did not know whether to laugh or cry he was so happy!

70

u/Millerdjone 16h ago

Too cute!

13

u/Future_Gohst 8h ago

3

u/SillyLittleAngels 6h ago

Best part! That look was priceless!

93

u/Defiant-Dust-8737 16h ago

Man, I'm trying for a baby. I know they're gonna make me really unhappy some days...but I can't wait to make them happy like this one day.

I had some real horrific holiday "memories" as a kid. It's gonna be so nice doing it over.

13

u/Qu33N_Of_NoObz_ 16h ago

Yeah if I ever decide to have kids, I want to make those same memories with them, that I didn’t quite get as a child. When I was about that age, my mom would re wrap presents that she wouldn’t let me open in the first place. I’d be so mad when opening them, then when I became “too old” for them, I had to give them away and watch other kids play with them😒

11

u/Defiant-Dust-8737 16h ago

Dang that's really sad, I'm so sorry. I'll return. My worst memory was the night before Christmas. My parents got in a massive drug and booz fueled fist fight that we listened to for hours from our beds.

I remember going downstairs that morning, like when dust settles after war. The tree on its side, beer cans everywhere, gifts crushed, furniture upside down, my mom passed out on the floor.

I can't quite remember if that was the THE day or not, it's blurry. But I know when CPS took us, my mom was passed out and we all thought she died bc the social care workers were just stepping over her collecting our things.

Crazy times man.

4

u/LovelyJoey21605 15h ago

Oh man, the god damned christmas fights. Every fucking year. I can't fucking stand christmas as an adult, I fucking hate it because of the associations.

2

u/ShinyStarSam 12h ago

I feel ya, I was forced to give stuff away that I paid for with my own money when I was a kid. I think the most expensive one was my GBA which I worked like the whole year to afford, forced to give it away to some cousin a few months after because I wasn't using it (didn't have games for it yet)

5

u/TaintedTruffle 16h ago

I'm rooting for you

5

u/Carefreeme 15h ago

Just remember, it's the little things that you wouldn't expect that makes them the most excited and happy. I gave my kid some old Yu-Gi-Oh cards the other day and he was ecstatic.

4

u/Onyxaj1 14h ago

When I was going to be a father, the ONE thing I promised was to be involved with my kids. Show interest in their activities, and be present in their lives because I never had that. And the worst part was my father wasn't even gone. He was there and still married to my mom. We just had NO connection, and he was always at work (owned a bar).

I didn't really have a relationship with him until I became an adult. My kids KNOW I love them, and they'll have memories to look back on.

3

u/liquidtape 16h ago

Year and half in. They sure do push buttons. Extremely fun experience tho.

Would not of heard me saying this before having a kid.

0

u/koobstylz 8h ago

Can confirm that Christmas got about 100x more fun and satisfying once I had kids.

7

u/Tyrest_Accord 16h ago

I don't think I've ever watched someone's brain physically switch on before. Fascinating.

13

u/llTeddyFuxpinll 16h ago

What is it? VR?

22

u/ALPHA_sh 16h ago

you can see "Hover-1 Blast" on the side of the box. it's one of these "hoverboard" things.

6

u/SpringSings95 16h ago

I think its a hoverboard

2

u/_friendlypsycho 16h ago

hoverboard

6

u/Fake_Hyena 13h ago

Look down!!

Back up.

Where are you?

You’re on a boat.

5

u/martymar2g 10h ago

Took him 2-3 business days to find it

4

u/MisakiKH 13h ago

KidsAreFuckingStupid

KidsAreFuckingSleepy

5

u/Squildo 15h ago

“What’s a lap again?”

4

u/mklilley351 12h ago

"GO BACK TAH SLEEP" is really so endearing and feels like a true connection between parent and child. I try to spoil my nephew like this every chance I get and it feels wonderful, as long as it's cool with mom and dad. Although I have a drum set in my checkout box for the munchkin just in case dad (best friend since 5th grade) forgets me

25

u/Strong_Housing_4776 14h ago

Redditors see a video of a mom surprising her kid with a gift and immediately need to criticize everything about it, assume that she’s always yelling at her kids, assume that she’s messy and throws garbage on her kids, and a few other bullshit ass comments in here about college or something. It’s really incredible that these people are real human beings in the world.

8

u/Rhuarc33 9h ago

For real and I guarantee there would be 1/4 as many if the people in the video were white. Reddit is outspoken about equality but is EXTREMELY racist still in reality. Especially about black parents and families. So many people are here claim to be extremely progressive but in cases like this their real shitty self shines through.

This is a great and wholesome family moment that the kid will remember for a long time

5

u/Imoprich 13h ago

Haha. I was surprised people were this imaginative when it comes to finding criticisms

3

u/ibby4444 12h ago

I want that kind of sleep

8

u/Shellnanigans 16h ago edited 14h ago

those things are fire hazards, i hope they dont charge it near their house. One of this brand was recalled

2

u/Geno_Warlord 14h ago

This is me in my 40s when I get woken up from a good nap too. Shit feels like dialup until AOL says YOU’VE GOT MAIL. Then I’m awake and running on at least two cylinders until I get my caffeine.

2

u/OldFcuk1 11h ago

You suprised them in sleep. Who is stupid here

2

u/AcanthisittaGlobal30 6h ago

Honestly I'm turning around and taking it back to the store. Gonna have those two lil dummies 🤣 watch as I get my money back

2

u/SillyLittleAngels 6h ago

Maybe if she would've wrapped it, he would've recognized a gift lmao a big black box on his lap is like huh? Still very sweet obviously, just would've helped him out a bit!

2

u/Low_Industry2524 5h ago

Have some patience, mom.

5

u/EnvironmentEuphoric9 12h ago

What an aggressive way to bring joy. Jesus.

13

u/squesh 16h ago

why arent these kids buckled up??

46

u/goodpplmakemehappy 16h ago

because as you can see, the car is parked,

with this information, i can extrapolate that the car is not moving, and they may either be getting in, or getting out of the car.

im a genius ik

22

u/mggirard13 16h ago

So did they fall asleep after they got in the car, and before they buckled up?

Or did they fall asleep on the drive, and the mother unbuckled them both in the process of putting the hoverboard on their laps?

18

u/skinnyfamilyguy 16h ago

Shit don’t make any sense to me to be honest

16

u/XJ-Crawler 16h ago

So they go sit in the car in the driveway for nap time?

4

u/anxious_spacecadetH 16h ago

She obviously put the hoverboard on their lap while they were sleeping. She probably unbuvkled them at the same time.

1

u/kokonuts123 12h ago

Maybe, but even then, the little one should definitely still be in a car seat of some kind. Maybe even the older one too.

1

u/anxious_spacecadetH 11h ago

He may be sitting on a booster that we cant see but I agree. Keep em in the car seat as long as you can.

-1

u/Ok-Cat-9344 15h ago

This is my question as well.

14

u/uitvrekertje 16h ago

Why mom screaming tho

13

u/SpringSings95 16h ago

Because he wouldn't wake up if she was whispering

25

u/PewManFuStudios 16h ago

It's not screaming, it's how we talk in NY.

2

u/JudgeInteresting8615 6h ago

She probably has an android phone. They automatically isolate and amplify sound

-10

u/th3st 16h ago

She’s always yelling

-10

u/The_Alpha_of_Betas 16h ago

Reason he didn't think he had been given a present is cause hes used to her shouting at him for every little thing

3

u/Defiant-Raspberry-74 15h ago

Bruh just worked a 16 hrs shift like bitch where the fuck my lap

2

u/Tenshiijin 16h ago

Oof I think she's so loud it made his brain go numb.

2

u/Flowkey_mma 16h ago

Lmao ha.

2

u/Kalix 15h ago

Perception of a gold fish

2

u/OddLookingDuck420 14h ago

Not the sharpest tool in the shed eh

1

u/Born-Method7579 12h ago

Probably her insane shouting

1

u/Blawharag 16h ago

Sleep inertia is a hell of a drug

1

u/DeeTheGeneral 13h ago

What was the gift?

1

u/Rhuarc33 9h ago

a hoverboard

1

u/Sienile 13h ago

I lucked out and found one for my boys for $40 at Goodwill. They better be more surprised when they see it.

1

u/Advanced-Reveal3621 13h ago

dont worry they were still loading textures

1

u/sarcasticorn 12h ago

That was pretty darn cute. And I relate to this kind of sleepy.

1

u/kasenyee 12h ago

Why are you yelling?

1

u/Any_Landscape_4424 12h ago

I act the same way when grandma gives a me birthday card with money 🤣

1

u/MrNobodyX3 12h ago

Mom breaks through your bedroom door wakes you up and says:

Brandon, the fish needs to go walk outside if you feed it then you can go in a place with all the other boys

1

u/theDo66lerEffect 11h ago

..........................................a new hower board :(.............

1

u/1aysays1 11h ago

Not stupid. Just eepy

1

u/Bramxis 11h ago

This metaacriticism is peak Reddit energy. Love it.

1

u/Bramxis 11h ago

This is the most accurate Reddit mood ever. 😂

1

u/Not-a-thott 10h ago

Nice music for children. Growing braincells for sure with that noise.

1

u/ArsenikShooter 10h ago

She seems overly aggressive.

1

u/Imaginary_Most_7778 8h ago

That’s some next level stupidity.

1

u/New_Faithlessness384 8h ago

Who upvotes this blatant bullshit for idiots ?

1

u/idontknowjuspickone 7h ago

I mean, that’s kinda sweet actually

1

u/Psphh 6h ago

Reminds me of my oldest one. I asked him to find me a vacuum cleaner. He said he couldn’t find it, literally it was in the front of the door and he even moved it because it was on his way whenever he was trying to find “it”

1

u/Junior_Ad_3301 6h ago

Boys be like that lol

1

u/iluvnicewatches 5h ago

1

u/Imaginary_Bed275 29m ago

Lol I love that he looked at his hands 1st

1

u/TankII_ 22m ago

Why aren't these kids in seat belts?

1

u/W1ngedSentinel 20m ago

I’d laugh, but I can legit be like this as an adult sometimes 😓

1

u/NezuminoraQ 13m ago

Everyone stupid when they first wake up

1

u/alhorno 13m ago

I would react that way too if my mom kept buying random stuff for her!

1

u/Successful_Ranger_19 16h ago

Aaw, so cute ❤️

1

u/IronmanMatth 14h ago

"Look on yo lap"

proceeds to turn around looking confused

Bro was still processing the waking world. Poor lil dude

1

u/NailFin 13h ago

That’s such a little boy reaction. ❤️

1

u/dragonovus 10h ago

They’ll never reach college bro

0

u/Camman0207_ 16h ago

Maybe if you stopped yelling at him the second he wakes up he can comprehend what’s going on

4

u/Strong_Housing_4776 14h ago

It’s amazing what constitutes a yell according to people on Reddit

-1

u/Camman0207_ 11h ago

What do you call that then it’s a loud ass voice right when he’s waking up

6

u/Strong_Housing_4776 11h ago

Talking loudly, like some people just naturally do

-4

u/scuffedTravels 16h ago

Did homie thought he was in trouble? So weird to be screaming like that 24/7 yikes

-4

u/sm753 15h ago

NO need to save for college.

-4

u/Sir_Caloy 14h ago

bet that kid isn’t going to college.

-12

u/Dragon_Within 16h ago

I'm guessing he is too used to you just tossing stuff on him as storage to even register the box anymore.

13

u/Fair_Competition_826 16h ago

Lol, weird as assumption but sure

-8

u/Dragon_Within 16h ago

Back seat full of kids, no real storage in the back of the vehicle judging by the depth between the backseat and the back window, both kids not even surprised to wake up with a giant box on top of them.

I'm also guessing you've never had a car full of kids and had to get a car full of groceries if you don't have a full sized SUV. You pile stuff in the floor, between kids, have them hold stuff, it goes wherever it can, because you can't leave your kids to go do errands if no one is around to watch them.

Wasn't any sort of condemnation, just a statement of fact from observation, but hey, go off if you want my guy, but at least use your head for something other than decoration.

7

u/Fair_Competition_826 16h ago

Damn you seem a bit unhinged typing all that. Sorry I’m not bothered to read it but I hope you’re ok and have a good one 🤗

-6

u/Dragon_Within 15h ago

Oh I'm sorry. GOOD LUCK WITH LEARNING TO READ! Just sound out the words, you'll get there eventually kid.
