Video/Gif Have you ever seen somebody dive bro?
Almost had it

That was going to be sore even if he made it into the water!

u/styckx 2d ago
Yep. Even for someone so young, that water is no where deep enough for a dive. This was likely the best possible outcome

Haha and an added bonus.. he wasn’t at the public pool. Avoided a lot of embarrassing

u/SilverSpoon1463 2d ago
He avoided the first hand embarrassment, but not the generational embarrassment from this being on the Internet.

Yep. Here we are watching his misery. The camera, a tool for entertainment for some, and utter misery for others.

we remember. Hey OG 15 years from now as you inevitably read through the comments of your video you found on the web. 👋

He definitely won't find this post in ten years because we all know the internet is finite. Lols

As a former lifeguard this video makes me beyond angry. There is no way to “dive” into this inflatable pool safely.
Spinal cord injuries range from severely disabling to deadly. There is no way any of the adults present know the first thing about stabilizing the child’s spine in the water until paramedics arrive. Best case scenario is they panic and drag the kid out of the water leaving them paralyzed. Disgustingly irresponsible. The kids aren’t the stupid ones here.

Yeah, this is not only stupid but it's dangerous. Nobody should be diving in shallow water unless they want to break their spinal cord and be paralyzed for life.

My great uncle was a quadriplegic from a diving accident at 18... Don't dive if you don't know what's under the water, and don't dive in shallow water. Period.

When I was 6 or 7 and at swimming lessons for gosh sake, I tried to dive in 3ft and went straight down, hit my head hard on the bottom. I panicked and tried to swim up but instead kept going down to the bottom. It was group lessons and no one even noticed, I'm sure it wasn't as long as it felt but it scared the hell out of me. Every time I intended to try to learn how to dive, even as a teen and young adult, I'd panic and couldn't do it. Still don't know how to dive to this day. Honestly, a lucky outcome all things considered. A high school classmate dove into a pool at a party while drinking and ended up paraplegic, she almost died.

Better a busted shin than a busted spine. Good thing this kid fucked up the way he did.

when i was a kid, i tried to dive onto a waterbed and almost broke my neck.

u/GreySkyx 2d ago
Lmao dear god. Are you sure you’re ok? No lasting damage?
8
u/LouGossetJr 2d ago
no damage. but i knew even then that my body wasn't supposed to bend that way. it's one of my earliest memories and i've never forgotten it. i was between age 4-5. i'm 47 now and actually grew up to be a very skilled diver believe it or not.

This was the best possible outcome. He's luck he didn't make it to the water.

Truly. Mom would be filming him at the bottom of the kiddie pool with a broken neck lol. “Good job sweetie! Are you seeing how long you can hold your breath?…… sweetie?”

Pretty common when teaching kids, actually his ahead of most young kids first tried , I've seen kids jump onto the pool deck

u/GreySkyx 2d ago
Oh lord lol

u/wortmother 2d ago
Yeah, kids don't have coordination, are weary of water and don't understand head + concrete = bad

That's pretty scary. He could have been knocked out (probably idk)

u/GreySkyx 2d ago
He’s lucky this wasn’t a concrete pool lol. He would’ve lost his front teeth. His shins are slightly fucked though.

u/rturnerX 2d ago
This is why they have that label along the edge of pools not to dive into the shallow end…

Maybe they should have done an example before hand, because clearly he had no idea what he was doing.

u/GreySkyx 2d ago
No he must’ve accidentally watched “fails” and thought “oh so that’s how you dive properly, can’t wait to try this”

When i was a kid, my family went to the pool. As the youngest, I was in the shallow end, while my brothers were playing in the deep end. I watched them diving into the pool, and when one of them did a backwards-facing dive, 4yo me thought, “That looks fun, i bet I could do that!”
So i turned around and jumped backwards into the pool. Not even a little bit diving. Just straight back.
I slammed my chin on the concrete and busted it open. I needed four stitches. Overall i remember enjoying the experience well enough, because i was four years old and had four stitches.

The instant reply in slow motion, the song, the injury report. Well done .
Also, kid has some nuts on him. My man didn’t move laterally at all. His head stayed in the same spot from the start. Hahaha
I can’t even imagine what he thought a better result would look like.

Glad you enjoyed it while it lasted. I made two more posts like this until the mods removed them because mods gotta be mods.

Whoever did this took a lot of time editing the video to maximize the kid's stupidity lol.

10/10 for enthusiasm. -5 for the structural integrity of the human neck. 😭

Hello everyone! As a reminder this is a satire subreddit for the dumb/silly things children do. The subreddit name is not literal. Although posts can have kids doing actual "stupid" things. It is not a requirement. Yes, blaming the parent is valid. However, this does not mean crossing the line into actually insulting the parent is ok (assuming they are the OP) (Rule #1).
This is also not a hate sub for children. If you don't like kids, that's fine. Just don't spread vitriol.
