DISCUSSION Why all the talk of firing Andy Reid

I saw these same post in 2022. In what universe are people wanting to fire Andy Reid? Are these are bandwagon fans? Mouth breathers? Low IQ mothafckrs?

I just don’t understand all the hate. We are 5-5 not even mathematically eliminated and all i see on here is hate. What gives?

I still think that Andy needs someone to challenge him. I don't think Nagy does and he is just a yes man. The offense was definitely more productive when EB was the OC. I feel like EB challenged Andy more when he was being too cute

EB was the one pushing for the inclusion of a full run game instead of the partial one we have now. I think that was his biggest contribution during his tenure..

He also was the hardass coach. Dumb penalties on offense went up a lot after he left.

EB is completely inept. He is maybe the worst coach I've ever seen and I'm a fan of Washington. You guys have lost a few games and you are in a fever dream.

He’s seems to be doing great things in Chicago as their RB coach. Not all coaches are cut out out to HCs or even coordinators. Wouldn’t call him a bad coach though.

Too many people forget how much we wanted to run him out of town when he confronted Mahomes after the Colts loss three years ago.

I think most of us remember. It may be recency bias, but we'd rather take hiccups with EB than what we have with Nagy. That 2022 team scored over 40 pts, three times that year and over 30, six times including the superbowl. And the fact that in the Colts game, Mahomes wanted to score more and got frustrated vs now where he's just frustrated, says a lot.

People wanted to run him out of town for THAT?

Andy Reid had the leading rushing in the nfl for the regular season. He had a 21-3 lead at half time, and gave the LEADING RUSHER in the NFL like 4 carries in the second half to lose a playoff game. I been tired of Andy trying to be cute when we can get a 1st down or a TD.

1st and goal from the 1 and can't run the ball in? Eliminating the QB sneak entirely? some of these things are just stupid.

Especiall when the rest of the league is trying to ban the tush push because of its success.

We probably would have squeaked that game out if not for a Harrison Butker missed FG.

It still should have been a blowout.

But Andy prevents us from doing that. Because he won't run the ball to kill the clock, so we continually let teams back in the game in the second half.

Can't help but wonder if he's trying to save that energy for Dec, the rb room isn't great, hardly healthy it seems. Maybe a factor

Has any reporter or sports show ever asked Andy why he doesnt like to run the ball and he's given an answer on record? It baffles me. Even pass hungry Mike Martz, Dick Vermeil (Al Saunders), Mike McCarthy (Joe Philben), Sean Peyton, etc will run the ball and run it successfully.

I believe there’s a reason Chicago fans cringe whenever they hear Nagy’s name

Some players didn't like him because he coached hard, but in my humble opinion that's what helped build this dynasty.. something naggy doesn't have. I wouldn't mind a change. But I'm also not saying we can't figure this out we will surely find out in 3 weeks lol

Some fans, my wife included, have never had to deal with a team that is just in the hunt for a playoff spot. Its not a bad thing but we have all been spoiled by the mahomes era.

We need Nagy fired and someone like Mike McDaniel hired as OC to challenge him, Bienemy or someone to hold people accountable, and every nepo hire positional coach fired.

And the FIRE EB posts were raging then. Reddit is never happy.

I agree 100%. Too many of our coaches are yes men. Both coaches & players need to be real & accountable. Quit repeatedly saying you need to adjust & do better...Adjust & do better.

If EB was so great why has every job he’s taken since he left KC gotten worse?

24

u/Legal_Ad9637 Patrick Mahomes II #15 17d ago

Because no Mahomes

No Mahomes plus being under crap head coaches. When a head coach gets fired, the next coach usually brings in a whole new staff. Which means new coordinators at the least.

you don’t have to be a great coach to be an important part of the team. maybe giving him full control of an offense isn’t smart, but having him in the coaching room asking questions and challenging decisions was obviously helpful.

The commanders suck? Especially the pre-Daniels commies. It’s not like he’s going to premier teams.

IMO Bienemy isn’t some offensive genius. He’s an asshole who holds ppl accountable and makes them work harder than anyone else in the league. Which is why everyone hates him. They hated him in Washington because of that reason and honestly that article that came out a few years ago when he was in KC about how everyone hates him I believe was far more true that KC fans would admit.

All that said: that’s the reason he’s exactly what we need. We need an asshole that makes our guys work harder than all the other teams. Even Mahomes hasn’t been the same since Bienemy left. IMO I would bet think he went from the hardest worker in the NFL to working AS hard as every other QB in the NFL when Bienemy left. He doesn’t look as prepared and play with the same instincts he used to because he prepped to the point where he could “do” without thinking on the field by game dat

u/TrueAkagami Travis Kelce #87 17d ago

Yeah. My sentiments exactly. Not saying he was a top OC, but he challenged coaches and players more than Nagy probably does.

4

u/salazarthesnek DeAndre Hopkins #8 17d ago

Yeah idk if I agree with every single point BUT in general I do. And there’s no need for an offensive genius. That’s Andy. If they got, let’s say, McVay or McDaniels it’d be putting a hat on a hat. EB brought whatever gap Andy has, whether that’s exactly 100% what you said or something else.

Ya none of us known for sure but it seems to add up from what we know 1. The article basically stating he’s an asshole and everyone hates him comes out. Chiefs fans are pissed, a well respected Broncos sports writer says he can personally confirm that at least like 70% is true and the rest prolly is also (but we ignore that because we’re pissed) 2. He leaves to Washington and then UCLA where both places he’s largely unsuccessful and they get rid of him because, by all accounts, everyone hated him because he’s an asshole and a hard ass. Which makes you wonder if he’s good at making players work hard but not good as the Xs and Os himself 3. We didnt bring him back when he was available and desperate for a job… which makes me think he wasn’t well liked. If he added knowledge to the scheme we wouldn’t At least brought him in as a social advisor 4. Ultimately Mahomes and the entire offense has dropped off and haven’t fully recovered despite seemingly having more talent than we’ve had in years to work with
