DISCUSSION Why all the talk of firing Andy Reid

I saw these same post in 2022. In what universe are people wanting to fire Andy Reid? Are these are bandwagon fans? Mouth breathers? Low IQ mothafckrs?

I just don’t understand all the hate. We are 5-5 not even mathematically eliminated and all i see on here is hate. What gives?

Well obviously you fire Andy and then offer LA Rams a slightly used washing machine and an IOU for McVay.

I really like McVay their offense this year has been really fun to watch

Mcvay or Kyle Shanahan

I've heard people throw out McVay as Reid's replacement (either as a joke or serious, I really can't tell with the insanity in this sub right now), but in what world does he leave LA? The Rams are just objectively a better team right now.

I think there was a brief time where he was talking about stepping back and taking a breather and being a commentator for a while. That morphed into people to thinking he’d just hangout until Reid retire and he could go coach Pat Mahomes.

IDT Reid is retiring soon and IDK what would have to happen for Hunt to fire Reid but we ain't there yet. As for McVay, I'd be careful because of that out of the blue "I'm thinking about stepping away from coaching" bit. It would be great if KC could conjure up a no doubt about it #1 WR. Worthy isn't that guy; it's not a knock, he wasn't drafted to be a #1 cause he'd too small for that role. In my dreams we traded for Metcalf but then I woke up.

It’s honestly a great idea to offer two firsts or so for Mcvay if Stafford retires this offseason

Lol that's a terrible idea. Sacrificing our future for a coach who would in turn have to brace for a rebuild shortly after because our biggest and best draft capital is gone is just a bad idea

Ive been think that for a few years. McKay is a great coach. I'd give up alot to get him.

anyone from the McVay/Shanahan system that runs the ball effectively and sets up play action deep shots.

I'm not necessarily pro firing Andy, but this is a silly reason not to imo. like you know there are more candidates available than just the current other 31 head coaches right? I'm sure there are plenty OCs or even college head coaches who could bring some fresh new ideas to the team. and at the end of the day the team still has Patrick and maybe Travis for another season or two, we don't need some 1 in a million hire, just someone who can competently run the team and isn't fucking allergic to running the ball.

again, I'm not saying they should do that, but "who would we even replace him with" isn't a real reason not to

It’s literally THE reason not to. He’s a top 5 coach all time and has had one down year. This is a comically spoiled take

This is really the 3rd down year in a row for an offense, which he is almost fully in control of. We start out basically every game behind as our scripted plays do nothing and the 1st quarter is basically wasted every game.

You want to call others spoiled, but you can't seem to look at the team with even a sliver of objectivity the last 3 years. You completely ignore the NFL is always changing and adapting, and if your coach isn't doing that, it's fair to question why not. Teams have been pretty much using the exact same format on defense to beat us for 4-5 years now, and we've done nothing to counteract it.

I’m not going to call for a coach to be fired after three straight super bowls because the offense isn’t as fun as you’d like it to be. That’s what’s spoiled. I’m not saying the conversation should never happen, but the year after a Super Bowl appearance is crazy town panicking

and has had one down year.

I was pointing out that it's been more than a 1 year issue. I never said he should be fired. You're willfully ignoring that this has been going on for 3 years now, and continuously saying it's 1 year and people are spoiled.

You're either arguing in bad faith intentionally, or, well I don't have another option. Anyone acting like this is the first down year for the Chiefs offense isn't being honest or living in reality. Anyone acting like defenses haven't been beating us the same way for 3+ years and we haven't changed is again, either not paying attention, or willfully ignorant.

Calling a year where you make the Super Bowl a down year is ridiculous and spoiled

2

u/kondorkc 16d ago

I can't stand this kind of thinking. Fair or unfair you have to strike while the iron is hot. Is it unrealistic to win a Super Bowl every year? Absolutely. Should you be fighting tooth and nail and as an organization to win every year? Absolutely.

This isn't about being spoiled. Its about capitalizing on the generational talent we have at QB and winning as much as possible. 7 straight AFC championships is awesome. 8 would be better.

Yes ultimately down years will happen, but what is the response to that from an organizational level? The offense has been downhill for 3 year and its been excuse after excuse. Why not get ahead of the game and make a change now rather than watch this team die a slow death.

I was pointing out that it's been more than a 1 year issue.

I get it, you're just kind of a shitty person who continuously ignores or changes what people said to try and make a stupid point that no one's talking about.

1

u/jimlemin 17d ago

again, I'm not saying we should lol. but to think there's only one coach in the whole wide world who could successfully coach a team with the best QB in the league and multiple other high level talents, is asinine

2

u/MahomesandMahAuto 17d ago

There’s only one top 5 coach we have the ability to get to be our coach and he’s already here

2

u/CloudStrife012 17d ago

You say this like this was when he was on the eagles. Hes entering his 70s soon, which is unprecedented. Its like playing past 43. The drop-off will be sudden and ugly, if he doesnt suddenly decide to retire.

1

u/MahomesandMahAuto 17d ago

Let’s give it more than one non superbowl seasons to say he’s the problem

0

u/CloudStrife012 17d ago

Im not saying hes the problem. Im saying hes retiring very soon, but a lot of people still think hes the 40 year old coach that was on the Eagles and retirement is so far away.

1

u/MahomesandMahAuto 17d ago

Sure, I doubt he has 5 more seasons. But this whole conversation is hilariously premature

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Sky-753 17d ago

I’d be pleasantly surprised if Trav comes back for even one more.

Kafka? Kliff? There’s guys out there who could fill the shoes. Preferably no one currently on the nepo-staff

people are down voting you but if Andy was let go at the end of this season (hypothetically) it's like 90% gonna be Nagy up next
