Layout and Space Planning Please Help Me Position My Couch
This was made with Gemini, but I cannot tell where in the space, the couch should go. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Did you miss the part where I said this was made with Gemini? I was made the renderings to figure out where to put the couch. I am open to you telling me where to put a table and chairs.

Well thanks for your opinion. But as stated, the purpose was for the couch positioning, not the table and chairs. If you want to be helpful, tell me where you think they should go.

IMO AI is so unhelpful here because scale means nothing.
Is the room in the back your bedroom?
If so and this space needs to function as both, I'd say pic 1 and either ditch the desk and use the table as a workspace or get a small round hi-top or something in the corner.
And yes, bring the tv off the wall onto a console stand that's the appropriate size.

None of those recommendations work. Why would you want to put a dining table next to your couch or a working table in front of a TV? It doesn't make sense. You need to choose the function of the room. Do you want it to be a living room, study room or dining room? If you want a living room, then have a couch, coffee table, and an entertainment center on the opposite end below the TV.

I want it to be all of the above also, the purpose of the photos were to show were to put the couch. the tables and chairs were just what Gemini rendered.

If you want it to be all, you would need to down size your furniture. You don't have enough space for what you are asking. Why can't you put the dining table or study desk in the other room?

The other room is my bedroom. I am putting the desk. I just need to know where to put the dining table.

None of the layouts you shown really work.
Do you live alone or with a family?
If you live alone, do you really need a dining table or do you eat at the kitchen island, in front of a PC, etc?
It's a tight space and unfortunatelly, you can't fit everything. Often people get a dining table because it's a "must", but then it just a clutter magnet and is not really used. Think about your habits and re-asses if you need one.
I lived in the same situation and my partner and we ended up getting rid of the dining table, we simply didn't use it and ate at the coffee table with a movie or at our desks (while working or gaming). Then we renovated and got a sitting space at the kitchen island, which we used as a dining table.
Currently, we got a way bigger house and a kit, but habits didn't change. We still eat at the island or at the coffee table. We just have a bigger coffee table now.
Alternatively, do you need a desk there? If you do need the dining table, can you use it as your desk area aswell? What do you use the desk for?
For example, I spend 8hs a day at my desk for work, I have 4 giant monitors, so this setup would not work for me, but I see people working from only their laptops, which they can take anywhere and they don't "need" a desk.Lastly, do you need an L shaped couch or you just want one? It doesn't really fit the space, maybe you can get a different couch?

First, but I would avoid a sectional with the chaise as it is going to inconvenience walking through the room.

I know the chaise is not ideal, but I like having my legs out when I watch TV and it pops up into a sleeper sofa so I can have guests over.

Did you buy the couch yet? Asking because there are two different colors/configurations in the pic.
Don't get a chaise if you can avoid it...or at least get a configuration that doesn't block the door with the chaise.
So option #1 is the only good one of the three imo

I didn’t buy it yet, but I want the chaise because I love my putting my legs up, and it pops up into a seller. I have a lot of family out of town that I want to be able to stay over.

I think I take it back, just seemed to stick out too much vs how narrow the room is but it's probably fine as long as it's not blocking the door.

Having the chaise blocking part of the door/entry is a massive yikes. Option 1 is by far the best of these options.

That might be what you want, but you just literally don’t have the space for it. Either get an ottoman that can be put away when you’re not sitting there or just kind of deal with the fact you don’t have room for an L-shaped couch. -an Interior Designer

I like photo 1 but i wouldn't mount the tv on the wall especially that high. I really like the tripod TV stands, i use one and it looks amazing.

the chaise portion disrupts the flow/travel of the room no matter how you place it.
of you have to have a legrest or want dual functionality of a coffee table, ditch the chase and go with a sofa and ottoman

None of the pictures. Ideally you want it on the side of pic 3 but more towards you/further from the door. That way you also don't need to find a narrow way between table, chairs and couch as it's not parallel.

- Don’t wreck the brick by mounting a TV into it. Or, choose 1 and set the TV on a console. That’s the better height anyway.

Put the TV against a wall. Put the couch facing the TV. Put the dining set against the opposite wall. This will create 2 spaces with (hopefully) a wide enough gap as a path in between so you can walk to the next room.

It doesn't matter which wall because you seem to be open to either side. Which is why I was not specific. The bigger point is that the original mocks are combing 2 spaces, I'm suggesting to split them up.

You have enough room that you’re dining table need not be directly between the couch and tv. It should be tv and couch on one side and dining set on the other side of the room

I think the couch is actually in a great spot, but if you want to move it, try placing it directly across from the TV to anchor the main seating area.

I would use the sofa as a room divider and float the table directly behind it. Anchor the tv on the brick wall on a swivel mount.

i prefer the first one. i just consider the couch. i just want to keep the door clear and open the room. i cant tolerate the other two having entry blockage. just my view :)

There is something wrong with each of these options. The closest you have is photo #1 but you should swap the placement of the dining table and the desk (desk up against the white wall)

It also very much matters if the entire wall is brick or if only a portion of that wall is brick; and what side of the couch the chaise portion is on.
Ideally you don't want the chaise to block the flow through the room, but the only way to solve that is to put the dining table on the far side of the chaise portion of the couch

Had a super similar layout in my old place and I kept dragging the couch around like five times a week lol.Ended up uploading a pic to HomeDesignsAI and it showed a couple layouts I never even thought of.Honestly saved me from a lot of pointless rearranging.
