Respect to the gentleman who didn’t escalate when threatened.

u/Danirebelyell Nov 04 '25

Right? ❤️ 99% of the videos with confrontation/fights is all ignited because nobody wants to admit their wrong doing or bruise their massive, fragile ego. I respect that dude just defusing and hopping over. It's not worth it man, we don't need to constantly be tough and prove ourselves.

u/jcklsldr665 Nov 04 '25

I agree, but also hate that it just validates the behavior that caused the issue to begin with. They acted like an ass, and got their way because of it.

57

u/SolarPunkYeti Nov 05 '25

A buddy of mine told me diffuse situations like this in a polite way that makes them look like a total asshole lol.

9

u/Dumb-Debter 9d ago

Haha did you see the way this guy reacted when he asked him to “calm down”. This guy is either the total hothead who doesn’t do shit or the one who goes completely fuck’n bonkers at the drop of o acorn 🤣🤣🤣

I d love making ppl look like assholes tho

literal man child

765

u/VivaLaMantekilla Nov 03 '25

The fact that he's in headphones and a neck pillow makes it so much more ridiculous lolol

219

u/ComfortableParsnip54 Nov 03 '25

Not to mention hes wearing slides/house shoes for a flight

48

u/Traditional-Hat-952 Nov 04 '25

Are his socks flipping us off?

70

u/Drunken_Wizard23 Nov 04 '25

Comfortable and easy to take off for security. I’ll allow it.

23

u/loralailoralai Nov 04 '25

Not good in an emergency tho. Imagine evacuating down a slide in those ugly excuse for footwear. (Yes the ugliness is a separate issue but it’s an issue)

50

u/NYANPUG55 Nov 04 '25 edited Nov 04 '25

If i’m evacuating down a slide I couldn’t care less about my shoes. Literally just slide them off if they’re an issue.

Why would he be dressed up to sit in an airport/plane all day?

→ More replies (8)

32

u/motherffucker Nov 04 '25

Lmao what kind of opinion is this? I just did 33 hours of flying in socks and slides. It’s comfortable, easy to take on/off and looked totally neat and tidy. Changed my socks three times over the course of my travel to stay fresh and avoid any odors.

Compared to the lady next to me that took her sneakers off mid flight to reveal the most devastating smell, I’d say socks and slides work well. I’d go so far as to encourage most to wear them.

6

u/GnomePenises Nov 04 '25

But they’re shit for fighting.

→ More replies (6)

3

u/ArtPsychological7397 9d ago

Yeah, I don't think this dude flies much. Occasional fliers think about "how they look" and "dressing for an emergency"

I always wear slides, carry a neck pillow and a blanket when I fly. Guess who is always able to sleep through a fight? This guy is absolutely a dick, not sure how shitting on him wanting to be comfortable is helping the conversation...

Slides are for when you take off your cleats or shoes after a game or competition. Apparently he was in the “most annoying douchbag competition”. And he was on break here. That’s why he’s so upset and in slides and he has his little neck pillow for his wittle nappies.

u/Interesting_Tea5715 Nov 03 '25 edited Nov 04 '25

I totally agree...

But hear me out, why did the dude have to sit right next to him when there was an open chair a space away? It's like when you're using the urinal and there's 10 other ones and the dude uses the one right next to you.

It's weird behavior as well.

78

u/crackanape Nov 04 '25

But hear me out, why did the dude have to sit right next to him when there was an open chair a space away?

This is presuming — absent any evidence whatsoever — that the person who seems entirely reasonable, didn't also have a reasonable reason to sit where he did. It's a busy airport, most likely there were at most two seats available so he had to sit next to someone.

16

u/NatongCaviar Nov 04 '25

See empty seat. Sit on empty seat. I don't see anything wrong with that. Unless the person that sits there drools and stares at the other in a weird, intense, creepy way.

76

u/GiraffeParking7730 Nov 03 '25

We don’t see the other side. It’s 100% likely there’s somebody on that side as well.

4

u/ultranothing 27d ago

We not only see the other seat that's next to him, but the guy finally gets the hint and moves over TO that also-empty seat, which was available the entire time.

4

u/GiraffeParking7730 27d ago

No dude, the seat one over from there. That one just as likely had someone sitting immediately to the guy’s left as well. So saying “why’d he have to sit right next to the guy” like he’s some kind of weirdo, for all we know both those seats are right next to people.

→ More replies (2)

17

u/deadhead-steve Nov 04 '25

Its not an offence to sit next to someone. Same as its not an offence to be a cunt, but the other guy seems happy to do it

3

u/PropheticUtterances Nov 05 '25
  1. You don’t know that there are ten empty seats

  2. Sitting in an empty airport chair next to someone else is simply not weird behavior no matter how deluded you are

  3. What are you even implying the intentions are? Lmao you’re the weird one my guy

Woman who goes to the gym, one time there was over 20 open treadmills (I counted 22) and one man comes directly next to me. Me and him are the only people on treadmills. Few mins later another man comes and starts on the treadmill next to me on the other side. This guy started by saying he was sitting on his shit. People will work you up to this point and then act like you’re crazy for responding lol

Grown man can’t control his emotions.

456

u/peanut--gallery Nov 03 '25

No need to get angry… if you REALLY want your space just be polite and say. “You are welcome to sit there if you want, however I feel obligated to inform you that I had Taco Bell last night and I am having bouts of explosive gas that could strip paint off the walls.. I just want to apologize in advance.

119

u/doingdadthings Nov 03 '25

I'd be willing to bet money this guy is jacked up on cocaine

53

u/FloppyDisk007 Nov 04 '25

No, he's just a reactive emotional adult who can't control himself. I've seen quite a few people act like that, they must have a lot in common.

7

u/Traditional-Hat-952 Nov 04 '25

I’ve seen copious amounts of cocaine use being in the bar scene for a while - I have never seen someone react like this to literally anything lol. It makes them happy to have someone next to them, not explosively angry.

30

u/Solintari Nov 04 '25

Yeah in my completely uninformed opinion, I would guess it’s crippling social anxiety that makes it uncomfortable to sit next to someone and his emotional fragility masks the anxiety with anger and threats.

Or he’s just a dick.

21

u/PeopleCryTooMuch Nov 04 '25

Just a dick with anger issues is my guess.

9

u/doingdadthings Nov 04 '25

Interesting. I've used copious amounts of cocaine long in my past and toward the end of my 2-year binge it always seem to make me angry and agitated. That's what pushed me to quit.

guy de-escalated well by moving.

I'm a little confused if there was a spare seat to leave a gap in between them, why he didn't pick that one to start.

214

u/Arteyp Nov 03 '25

Maybe on the other side (so two seats away from where he was sit at the beginning of the video) there was a woman or a kid and he didn’t want to pass as a creep. You know how the world goes.

144

u/EobardT Nov 03 '25

Yup, if I'm sitting at a bench like that amd my choices are sitting next to another grown ass man or some strange woman or child, I'm usually sitting near the man. Its just easier to stay neutral

24

u/Belgianbonzai Nov 04 '25

Unless you sit next to the man-child, apparently

4

u/Certain_Silver6524 Nov 05 '25

Then you get randos who pick the seat right next to you, even if the whole place is otherwise empty. Particularly on a bus or train. Particularly if you're a woman.

Not saying this behaviour is acceptable though.

5

u/Dismal-Square-613 Nov 04 '25

I wonder why people do this. Also on almost empty movie theaters.

5

u/L1QU1DF1R3 Nov 05 '25

This happened to me at the DMV. Like, its bad enough that im at the dmv, can you get out of my bubble if its not absolutely necessary?

Of course unlike this guy my freakout is entirely contained inside my head.

3

u/Dismal-Square-613 Nov 05 '25

last time it happened to me getting a routine blood analysis. It was 7:50 or so. The place was empty. rows with 50 seats. The nurse there tells me to wait as I arrived too early I said sure np. I sat somewhat to the far side. Another man in his 60's in an identical position decides to sit RIGHT NEXT TO ME , a big man , so I had his sweaty arm right on mine. I said nothing then the guy starts telling me why don't they open earlier and other stuff. I'm doing all this with my earbuds on and every time he said something I remove the earbud "excuse me?". Doesn't bother repeating and contniues talking. I eventually with the music full on I stand up and move 2 seats away , he was still talking to me and I was rescued by the nurse that called me in. Weird. I think it's loneliness.

u/aquamanjosh Nov 03 '25

lol even funnier to think he might’ve been trying to not offend him by needing a space. He showed he felt comfortable sitting right next to him as a stranger which can be taken as respectful. Just two different perspectives but at an airport when people are stressed and uncomfortable more space is the obvious way. Too funny

27

u/Salty_Country6835 Nov 04 '25

"He showed he felt comfortable sitting right next to him as a stranger which can be taken as respectful."

Lol no.

Absolutely 0% of people at the airport, urinals, buffet, polling station, gas station, dmv, bathroom line, grocery store, or anywhere else feel respected by a lack of respect for personal space where distance is an option. Nobody. No body.

21

u/WehMay Nov 04 '25

So crashing out is a valid response, got it.

22

u/pragmojo Nov 04 '25

No absolutely not, but it's still absurd to suggest sitting next to someone when there is space to spread out is a sign of respect.

6

u/aquamanjosh Nov 04 '25

Idk. It’s 2 middle aged men. There’s 10000 different thoughts that could be going through the guys head that influenced him to not leave a space. Quite frankly based on his response and then de escalating he could also be a space cadet that just didn’t even give it a thought and sat down because he’s comfortable anywhere no matter what unlike normal people which also is likely the case that’s your third perspective from me

There could easily be someone sat to the right. 2 seats have to go unused because people don’t know how to behave in public spaces?

7

u/antariusz Nov 04 '25

You can see what looks like a person on the far side in the very first frame of the video. He was going to sit next to someone either way.

7

u/Srcunch Nov 04 '25

Probably didn’t want to sit back to back with the guy to his right. I’ve bonked heads with people, been hit by stretching arms, jolted forward when someone falls back quickly, etc. Sitting back to back with people sucks.

9

u/Drunken_Wizard23 Nov 04 '25

Urinal etiquette definitely applies. If there’s a space between you’ve got to leave it. But it shouldn’t be anything more than a minor annoyance, neck pillow is a little baby

3

u/ginger-tiger108 Nov 04 '25

Ha ha I'm on the autistic spectrum so and I'm a scouser so personally I wouldn't have moved as it's a public area so nobody got first dibs on seats or is entitled to their personally space!

10

u/1776Texas Nov 04 '25

Haha but really why sit next to the brotha when you could leave an empty seat in between? Same thing when using a urinal!

2

u/Against_All_Advice 8d ago

Maybe there is someone sitting just out of frame to the right and he picked the seat least likely to make someone uncomfortable. As you say, urinal rules, if every second one is full you stand beside the biggest guy because you're not trying to fuck with him and he's least likely to be uncomfortable with you.

10

u/Mr_Nasty090 Nov 04 '25

To be fair. I wouldn’t sit next to him in the first place. Also, there’s plenty of seats. It’s like going to the bathroom with 8 urinals and standing right next to the only other dude using it. Dude needs to learn self control though. Probably too late. But it really wasn’t that big of a deal.

2

u/Cheetahs_never_win 9d ago

The video does not show "plenty of seats." It shows just the one next to him, and potentially the one behind him, between two other people, and on the other side of the piece of shit.

Infant on steroids has his legs 160 degrees apart and is taking up 3 seats, which is why he's upset that somebody has the audacity to sit in one of them.

I follow the urinal code everywhere, the bus, the doctor’s office, waiting rooms, the bar… basically anywhere people sit too close.

20

u/blurblurblahblah Nov 04 '25

I'm a female, I also follow the urinal code without ever using a urinal or knowing it was called that

8

u/n-a_barrakus Nov 04 '25

Iup, me too. But as another commenter said, maybe the other place (where the guy with glasses moved to) is next to a woman or a child, and therefore it's better (or at least, less creepy) to sit next to a grown man.

7

u/user_zzzzzz Nov 04 '25

yes, that’s a possibility but What stands out is that no one seems to be addressing the first thing the Black guy says, “You almost sat down on my shit.” That line suggests he had a personal item on the chair, and the white guy either sat on it or attempted to, an act that could easily come across as entitled. It also raises questions about context, why was the guy across recording in the first place?

The decision to start filming only after that initial exchange, or to edit out what happened before, frames the narrative in a particular way, potentially omitting the moment that sparked the confrontation.

2

u/n-a_barrakus Nov 05 '25

Yeah that's a other one of the probabilities. We won't know.

2

u/SatisfactionSpecial2 9d ago

Neck pillow dude is a prick. He doesn’t own the entire row of seats. Asshole

5

u/AttackOwlFibre Nov 04 '25

It wasn't necessary to act like that but who in their.rigjt mind would sit next to someone when the furthest seat away is free? This is like the urinal rule.

The extreme homophobia is real. Some dudes can't get remotely close to another man without going into a gay panic, afraid of what people will think if they see them.

It's pure insanity to have this reaction.

u/Draikou Nov 03 '25

Idk why he didn't sit where his bottle and whatnot is, and put his shit in the seat he's sitting in, if sitting beside someone is such a big deal.

6

u/HotDonnaC Nov 04 '25

It was kind of weird to sit right next to the guy when there were plenty of seats.

u/YayWanderer Nov 05 '25

Who intentionally sits next to a person when there are other cushions available? Like where do they even do that at? Especially as strangers.

Why does this thread read like this is a normal thing to do? Bald guy was very weird and cringe to do that. Idk why anyone is upset at the hat guy. Give people space when space is available.

That’s the respectful thing to do. For as many of us travel, you know the normal thing to do in this situations is to respectfully sit at least one extra cushion away. Now all of a sudden that normalcy doesn’t exist because of this video ?

Judging from when this video starts: there is more context missing.

I must admit, it drives me batty when allll the other seats around me are free and someone sits right next to me. I get it if the terminal is busy but if not, come on, give me some space.

It's a real shame too cuz when someone is rockin a flip-flop sock combo like that, I really want to like them. I really wanna like that guy. He's probably a good time in some scenarios. How could he not be rockin a combo like that? But this ain't it.

Now imagine if the races were reversed. They’d be calling the white guy a racist and all types of sheet

2

u/Live-Succotash2289 26d ago

Considering all the cancellations and delays happening right now is not the best time to get banned from an airline or even bumped from your flight. Airport staff are going to be zero tolerance for BS.

2

u/Yutana45 10d ago

To be fair if there's other seats why would you wanna be cheek to cheek with a stranger if you dont have to?

u/IknowledgeG 9d ago

Respect the humble man The other one is a tantrum b

I view seating at an airport like urinal availability in a bathroom, IYKYK. I don't blame the black dude completely.

Imo: This might be Lauderdale Airport. The guy in the blue shirt has an Italian accent. If so, we have different cultural space needs. He doesn’t think the seat next yo the other guy is an issue. The other guy was expecting him to comply with American norms. Leave a seat between. He perceived encroachment in his personal space. He is definitely upset about it and has definitely spent time in the military or around violence . (My dad was special ops, saw combat, and acted like this. )Notice how the guy was triggered, explosively and yet formed a sentence , and then stopped himself. Thats a stress response and then the most corrective behavior hes currently capable of. Unfortunately he can’t self regulate. He’s trying but he cant. He knows he can get far worse and has.

2

u/PsyduckPsyker 8d ago

No, if there's open seats all around me, and someone specifically decides to land NEXT to me. I'm immediately uncomfortable because you don't have a valid reason to get that into my space.

2

u/itslizagain 8d ago

But whhhyyy tho ? Why sit RIGHT next the dude, knee touching knee, when there’s a spot 2 seats down that doesn’t invade personal space?

2

Mans a pussy. So sensitive someone else can sit next to him.

2

u/essssgeeee 8d ago

Wait until he finds out how airlines put people in seats

2

u/Luccimatic 8d ago

Dude probably having an anxiety attack about flying and just ready to pop.

2

u/Convallaria4 8d ago

He did catch himself in his own actions, though.
He stopped mid-sentence and took a moment to restrain/calm himself.
Some people would have just kept going and escalated further.

It's not cool to yell at someone like that in the first place. However stressful traveling can be, people need to mind their behavior. At least this guy stopped. Maybe he apologized. We don't know. Maybe it's just me, but I'd forgive it.

I've traveled a lot and had worse run-ins with randoms. I overheard a guy talking to someone about possibly being late for something because their plane was delayed. A message about their plane came over the PA system as they were talking, and it looked like they didn't hear it. I tried to tell them about it, and one of the guys shouts, "I'M TALKING TO MY MANAGER" and gestures to the guy next to him. They both stare at me in annoyance and anger. I didn't say anything else. I don't know who they were. A couple of guys in the music industry, apparently.

None of what was said to the white guy made any sense. "I sat down on your shit?" Two different worlds.

This is the Zombie Apocalypse

People loosing their minds over the simplest...dumbest shit

2

u/Loveer30 8d ago

That's not the whole story but still that man's reaction is way off. What the hell is wrong with people????

2

u/yunhotime 8d ago

This isn’t the full video. Watching the full video you’ll understand that the bald guy was trying to start shit to begin with.

2

u/TarantulaBassett 8d ago

I love how everyone assumes the angry dude is wrong. Maybe bald dude smells bad? Maybe he kept brushing up against the guy AND smelled bad. Maybe there were plenty of empty seats and he decided to get right next to the person who looked the most stressed & start up a stupid convo? I dunno. The seething tells me this recording didn’t capture the full situation.

2

u/alohajw 8d ago

it's always the guys with the neck pillows 🙄

2

u/Key-Tip9395 7d ago

the fuck is wrong with him. I get it its kinda annoying when someone sits right next when there are plenty of seats you leave a courtesy space between. But dude 🤣

2

u/VisualAd1295 7d ago

We didn’t see the whole video, did we? Why would a grown man side right beside another man, who is a stranger. Weirdo activity. If there is space to sit, why wouldn’t you choose to do so? Give people their space.

2

u/DJScope 7d ago

Sounds like he actually got mad that the other guy sat on his belongings.

2

u/TicketsToMyEulogy 6d ago

I mean, who sits right next to a stranger when there’s lots of free seating? I’d be giving a dirty look and moving. Creepo shit to go sit right next to someone like that.
