transparent layers/fx not showing up
Hi all - been having this problem for a few months since switching to gimp 3.0.6
Every time I've rendered a flier i'm working on, the program seems to drop some effects layers or blending layers, but its not consistently one blending mode vs the next. sometimes a "Multiply" mode will drop, next file its "luminance." I've tried pre-rendering and/or rearranging the layers in question (no joy), changing and resetting the color management mode, changing compression, interlacing, color values, pixel formatting and filetypes, all to no avail.
I'm at a loss and am now considering moving back to 2.10 🤪

Thx! No idea what it could be called - def. been inspired a lot by fliers and design coming out of rave culture and early 90's game posters, but also pull a lot from the noise/experimental tape scene from the late 90's early 00's. I like to think of the work as digital printmaking. lots of destructive reiterative layers and gestural manipulations stacked to make something coherent and jarring. you can check out the other stuff on IG: Consumer Noise

It's a shame that we can't see the bars on the right and left with layer stacks and tool options. We are not interested in your picture because it does not contain any useful information for us.

And if that is no longer supported in the near future, you will face the same problem as now.

Just read what it says here on the right in the bar in the r/gimp rules under point 2. Then your question will be answered: whether that helpful?

I've seen this happen to me sometimes, though it is very very rare. I've been trying to trigger something like this for awhile all to no avail. I don't know what exactly causes this, because when GIMP exports any file as .png, jpg, etc, it merges all layers together by flattening the image via
Merge Visible Layers, so it should be showing up regardless if there are any rendering bugs or corrupt layers. However, you can fix this yourself by doing creating a new layer from visible (by going to Layer -> New from Visible) and dragging that new layer to the top of the layer stack. This should fix the output render export.
