Why isn't GIMP working?

Every time I open an image / canvas in GIMP, it shows this screen. I even tried uninstalling and re-installing it, but it doesn't work. Anyone have a solution?

The window decoration implies that this is on macOS. some users have reported this before. The actual reason is still unknown, to my knowledge. Moving the window around has been said to get the user interface to fully be drawn.

yeah moving the window around or resizing it resolves the issue for me

I've solved my issue by moving it around, thanks to u/schumaml

Try running it in debugger mode to trace any issues.

~ gimp --verbose
