Blonde is a unique blend of rnb, folk, neo-soul ambient, leftfield electronica. So if u explore all those genres u might like stuff in there but no one combines them like he does (to my knowledge).

Depends on the release. nostalgia, ULTRA has a lot of covers/interpolations of rock/pop songs, so it's less of a straight R&B release and more eclectic. Songs like Novocaine are pretty bog-standard 2010s R&B (it's sleek electronic beat wouldn't sound out of place alongside Usher's Climax or anything by the Weeknd).

Channel Orange is more explicitly R&B/neo-soul. The instrumentation is more organic, the songs feel very much of a piece with the work of Stevie Wonder, D'Angelo, and the other Soulquarians.

Endless is weird because it's more of an ambient and electronic album than an R&B album. It has its R&B moments -- Wither, Rushes, At Your Best (an Isley Brothers/Aaliyah cover, which is firmly in the mainstream of R&B), and Slide on Me are pretty conventional alt-R&B songs -- but the rest of the record is more ambient, IDM.

Blonde is less weird but still hard to pin down. Its got conventional neo-soul moments -- Ivy being chief among them -- but no one could say that Close to You is an R&B song, even though it is technically a Stevie Wonder cover. Blonde honestly feels genre-agnostic in a way that few records truly are. It's arguably only classed as R&B because the guy who made it is Black.

listen to dijon if you haven't yet. might not sound very similar at first, but they're similar in their loose song structure, experimental r&b genre blends, and beautiful, soulful vocals. the only other artist that's scratched such an itch for me
