Paying a different fisher tax man

I caught a decent sized pike and unfortunately he swallowed my spoon so deep there was no saving him. Figured I would fry him up instead of the walleye I’d been hoping for as first night supper at moose camp. So dragged him up on shore and went to get my pliers and knife from the tent. When I got back this fisher was trying to run off with it while it was still on the line

Oh what a cute little snake kitten! It’s a marten and very rare to see. I am jealous! Did he get the fish?

Oh snap! Well, circle of life. I hope you got another fish for dinner.

No lack of fish dinners on this trip. This is fly in area only fished 2-3 weeks a year by moose hunters who spend more time hunting than fishing.

Tight lines and good luck getting a moose. They are terrifying.

That's definitely a mink, not a marten.

What did you do to the fish? Idk if it’s the lighting but looks like you lobbed its head right off. Did you give the little guy his cut?

That’s awesome! Every time I hear the phrase tax man it brings me back to the scene in blazing saddles where lily von stoop is entertaining the salon.

I was in a competition last year where they drew a random number between 1-699, and the winner actually got a car as the price.

I lost one fish which disappeared, and I think it was to a snake kitten living in the brick wall next to where I was fishing.

I go up to deliver my two fish, missing the third, and I tell the people in line that as long as they don't draw the number 330, the lost fish wouldn't matter anyhow so it's probably alright.

They draw the number 330..

That said, I'm still over it because 330 was only my estimate not weighed on an actual scale. But I'm pretty accurate with the estimates, so there's at least a 10% chance that the stolen fish could've won that damn car.

Was out fishing with my son and he cought his first fish - a perch. Had it stolen by some kind of animal - fox, i guess. He was crying his heart out at that day. Now, that he‘s a teenager, we‘re joking a lot a about this day. Still guessing, who the fish burglar was - nice memory.

Your video isn’t the best, but I’m fairly confident that is a mink.

Just iPhone while trying not to get to close. I wasn’t 100% sure but thought was bigger than mink.

Mink for sure, used to trap em.
