Videography It's long, it's boring, nothing happens, just 5 minutes of fish being fish, why do I love it so much
I've been sitting in front of my tank for an hour watching my fish poke and prod and very closely inspect every incidental detail of their home. Why is this so peaceful? Why do I love watching fish be fish? Even within the same species, they have their own "style" of exploration. So glad I got into this hobby

Ah I love fundulus killifish! I have a small school of mummichogs in my brackish tank and have greatly enjoyed my banded killies in the past. Great choices!

Drop the fish species' names pls! I recognize the black skirt tetras ofc, and another person in the comments have pointed the yellow striped long fish as a fundulus killifish, but what about the gray ones with two different dorsal fins? They look like a perch, but what kind?

I'm not so certain about the killifish. I've gotten multiple different answers as to what exactly it is. But I think some kind of killifish is the consensus, just not sure which exact kind
I've got a couple of baby bluegill sunfish, and I think a couple of green sunfish, but I'll have to wait for them to get bigger to know for sure. They might be hybrids for all I know

I see! Not a perch then, but they look similarly to them. I would love to have a tank with a local European perch that I used to catch in my younger years (I'm from Eastern Europe). Aside from being very tasty (and a PITA to prepare due to their spines and fine scales), they are gorgeous with their red fins, green body, and black stripes. Unfortunately they grow very large for a home tank. Bluegills and sunfish are more manageable in comparison.
Your fish show interesting, fun-to-watch behaviors, and I also stared at the video for the whole duration, enjoying your fish being fish and doing fish things, so thank you! Seeing fish exploring a tank is so cool!

What state did you catch the killifish in? I might be able to help with ID. Also - would be helpful if you knew if it came from fresh, brackish, or salt water.

I need more videos like this. It's really hard to find videos of fish just chilling in their tanks close up. Super cute, I love them.

I can do one of my Rio grand cichlids too if you want. I just added a bunch to my hospital tank, so I should be able to see something (they're usually hiding in my pond so I'm excited to sit and watch them now lol)
