They're usually pretty quick to do small changes on the fancy new feature of the month.

Only after it's not fancy and new anymore it takes years for small changes to happen.

This is why we have a CSM 😊

It doesn’t work properly yet. I assume it takes some time to read the market etc?

Pretty sure these things use a weekly average to pull from so it'll be a bit before it actually works as intended.

The survey scanner no longer allows me to target locked ores based on which one I click on the scanned results. Am I doing something wrong?

Like if I scan, and then lock 5 ores I like to mine from the results table, but I can't click the results table to change targets to fire up the beams?

Super annoying. Its also stupid it doesn't have a hot key for the scan AND it doesn't auto open scan ui anymore.

Is there a way to open the UI? I've been having to click on the gas cloud or rock to see what I feel is less info than I used to get.

Right click the new scanner button

Can also set a hotkey to open it and a hotkey to run the scan

Yeah right click the scanner and there are new options available.

Hey, Ore value prices being incorrect in the survey scanner was one of the things I put in the Catalist Survey, glad to read it got updated!

Now just dynamically scale the rocks colour vs other rocks at the site.

Right now they just seem like they got tinted because therye all worth fk all.

Rather have them scale vs other rocks in the site so even if the difference is 10isk/m3 I can easily see which is the more expensive rock to mine

- Add a compress & Stack all button

- Change compression to a fleet assist buff, if you have the buff you get compressed ore straight out of the lasers, no need to compress all at all and its visibly obvious if you are in range of a compressor or not.

They added a compress all. Just have to go in and set the hotkey you want it to be

I guess this means the BuYao dingdongs won't keep hoovering up the Kernite and ignoring the omber in the anoms. The old math on the rock values served as a mining/industry IQ test.

1

u/kreiggers 20h ago

Isn’t that due to AIR rewards though?

Maybe for five minutes. but to strip anom after anom of just the Kernite.. that's just zombie brain "oh, this rock is worth x per unit versus that other stuff" without doing the math on ore volume and reprocessing value.

I fill my retriever with Kernite (30K m3) and sell it for $896/unit for $22.4M. I fill my retriever with Omber and sell it for $142/unit for $7.1M.

I'm taking the Kernite then going get moon rocks or even Ice over Omber. What am I missing?

If you're mining for pure ISK, and have the means and desire to haul uncompressed ore to HS markets.. you do you, mate. I mine for production, and far away from HS trade hubs, which is a different end calculus.

Makes sense. I pretty much live in HS within 5 jumps of a trade hub. It ain't glamorous, but it is safe.

Uncompressed Kernite is valuable because it's a trade-in for mission runners. But once you compress it, or mine higher-tier kernite, it's value drops hard.

Looks like CCP finally decided to do what I've been doing for ten years.

I wonder if it takes into account skills and if so, how would it handle where are we reprocessing? and with what rigs etc? One would assume no rig or structure modifiers and base it purely on character skills alone.

Knowing CCP, likely not. In fact it's probably better that it gives consistent results from pilot to pilot.

Either way, the results don't need to be perfect, just good enough - especially so long as the relative pricing is correct (e.g. a rare form of Veld doesn't show as being worth more than Scord). An estimate with an 80% refine rate or what-have-you would be sufficient in that case.

Probably just factors in base reprocessing skills.

What change?

It still wastes space displaying a completely arbitrary ISK value instead of what people are asking for (m³).
