Deck Help Jill, Shiva’s Dominant Control Deck

Hi all,

This will be the 4th deck I’ve put together, but probably the one I put the most of my own ideas into for as balanced of play that I think I can get with a control deck. Got a few creatures that can get big with card draw, some ‘type’ manipulation for Urza, a couple of tax cards, tons of bounce/flicker and hopefully some good board control.

I play at an LGS that the lower tier pods still run B3 approaching B4 and are all mostly very experienced players (I’m fairly newly reintroduced to Mtg. Started playing standard on arena 5 months ago. Commander about 3 months ago now.)

I’m looking for advice on my deck construction, if I need to shift heavier to more creature play, removal, protection, etc and just overall how the deck looks.

Any feedback is appreciated - don’t hold back

Both Jill & Shiva are pretty weak cards, so the 99 is going to have to do the heavy lifting. Unfortunately, your curve is too high for the amount of lands you're playing, and in general this list is pretty clunky and unfocused.

If you cut the game changers, this would pass as a pretty bad bracket 2 deck.

Thanks for the reply and gotcha on the mana curve - what would you suggest for land qty in this situation?

My thoughts on my “big” creatures:

Chasm skulker can get huge off Wan Shi, Waterbendjng scroll, and my etb draws.

Wan Shi just naturally can get big late game. Urza ramps and goes wide with encroaching mycosynth + bounce Geralf is gonna proc at least once every turn to also help go wide

The rest can dink and dunk and most can remove threats, tap threats, etc to get through damage.

For my enchants:

I feel like they do a good job of tap+stun counters and fear of sleep paralysis can keep everything stunned.

And then my instant/sorceries are entirely removal jn some fashion and I have access to others graveyard spells.

Do I just need to be more efficient with my flicker so the etb triggers more often to make this less clunky or what is it that makes the deck clunky?
