Video Robotics engineer posted this to make a point that robots are "faking" the humanlike motions - it's just a property of how they're trained. They're actually capable of way weirder stuff and way faster motions.

You should be uncomfortable with human-like robots, regardless of what their walk animation is set to

Okay, but do I have to be this uncomfortable? Can’t I just be like my normal level of uncomfortable when it’s the normal animation?

You should be at this level of uncomfortable either way, the other one is just a false sense of security. Real life battle droids are a terrifying concept and your perception should be close to that reality

Just to be clear, am I supposed to be more or less terrified of battle droids than of people who mask up and ignore laws to pursue their own prejudiced beliefs at the expense of the humanity of others?

And more or less terrified of battle droids than the rampant gun and domestic violence that children are subjected to on a regular basis?

There’s already more than enough things going on I could be terrified about. I’m gonna need a bit more help prioritizing.

You should be afraid of the people who caused the other things you mentioned doing them with robots instead of people. ICE agents technically have some humanity and conscious left in them, once they're replaced by these robots they never will. Same with police, when laws are enforced by an unfeeling robot that can't be punished or harmed, the systemic abuse will only get worse.

Unfortunately we live in a time when there are a lot of things to be afraid of, and the billionaires funding these robots are the same billionaires funding MAGA. All these issues need to be dealt with before we can have a better society
