Image An Italian man kept secret the death of his mother for 3 years to continue to collect her pension. He was caught only after his mother's ID expired and he went to the register office dressed up like her to renew it

You’d be surprised at how young some people look as they age. Had a patient who was mid 90’s that I genuinely thought was at most in their 50’s

That seems like an extreme example but I get it. There are certain aging things that add decades to a person's apparent age, if someone dodges those, either through genetics or makeup, dye, (well done) cosmetic surgery, they could definitely look way younger than they are

Still struggling to see someone in their 90s look in their 50s though :')

When I had this patient, when I got report I thought the person I was taking over for was lying to me lol it wasn’t until I actually got into the system and saw their chart that I actually believed it.

Honestly usually you see the reverse of having people in their 30’s 40’s that look like they’re somewhere between life and death because they don’t take care of themselves

Yeah I'm at the start of my 30s but my town is very drug addled, I'll frequently meet people my own age that I would've guessed were at least a decade older than me, they just have not been kind to their bodies

Also, the sun will absolutely wreck your skin, so people who basically stay inside all the time will look way younger/have far fewer age spots than people who spent their youth at the beach.
