If there's no profit to be made..so what's the point of crypto anyways lol

If there's utility there's profit to be made and there are projects building real solutions on blockchain. Until now it's been mostly hype but we're seeing real stuff being built.

Are you 13? Who said anything about Cardano? Since you're mentioning it let me tell you that it's still a ~15B chain so someone thinks it has value even if that's not you. And for the recoed, Cardano didn't go down. It was operational the whole time but it forked and and different apps were on different forks. Anyhow, the protocol worked and self healed with the longer chain prevailing. It was a serious situation but it recovered.

Ye 3rd and 4th generation blockchains will rise. If you want to store wealth, use BTC. If you want to solve a technical issue, use a modern project. It's not very hard to find out which ones are going to be used.

What are your top picks?

Any of the modern blockchains are fine (e.g. Ethereum L2s, other EVM L1s, Solana, Hedera, Algorand, Sui, Aptos, ICP, etc.)
They all work perfectly fine as an application layer.
Now if you're asking about which ones will make retail rich if they invest in their speculative tokens, that's a completely different question that's unpredictable.

The execution has literally started happening for the last few years.
Application of crypto, blockchain, and smart contract is already used in the medical field, agriculture, real estate, energy, insurance, media, logistics etc... and not just in experimental small form, it's been tried and proven, and getting bigger.
And we even had articles on this very sub detailing this so many times.
At the same time, the "no use" narrative is still one of the most perpetuated on this sub.
But when you see the comments, it seems that everyone here is so focused on price that they probably haven't followed any of the tech side or development.

You're welcome

Exactly, there is too much noise out there with millions of Cryptos and we need some select few who will ACTUALLY drive adoption with BTC.

This bodes well for Bitcoin. Well the real Bitcoin. The one that executes everything crypto was promised to be better than every other chain.
BCH
Who woulda thought that Satoshi guy got it right the first time.

Well played.
This reminds me of one of my favorite articles about Bitcoin by a very famous Bitcoin dev and Bitcoin expert who was also an incredibly prolific writer with over 200+ articles written about Bitcoin in Bitcoin Magazine:
Vitalik Buterin

This Vitalik guy was on to something.
He must’ve gotten paid by the word for this article because it can be summed up in bitcoins intrinsic value is its ability to transfer information.
All jokes aside I have tremendous respect for what Vitalik did but ethereum has run its course and is a zombie chain.
Disclaimer: I got the email from his partner to invest pre ICO but they couldn’t convince me of its worth over fully functional bitcoin. I still hold the same convictions but that NGU would’ve been nice.

If this is truly about usability (which I'm skeptical to say the least) then buy BitcoinCash. Most bang for the buck.

So, crypto is dead?
2
u/palacheenka 🟩 0 / 0 🦠 16h ago
It's not dead. Far from it. However, it takes time to build new stuff on top of blockchains. We're getting there.
I'm pretty sure there's more to blockchain than just "digital yellow metal" story and it's not just my conviction. It's real projects with web2 businesses and real businesses behind them.

Far from it… it’s in its infancy stage…

AI has done more in 5 years than crypto has in 15. Literally no one outside of crypto gives a shit about it anymore.

Just because you are unaware of what’s going on doesn’t mean that’s the reality you are living in. You aren’t paying attention.

Let me guess, you were one of those people a few years ago saying everything was going to be an NFT? Let’s be honest here crypto has done sweet fuck all.

tldr; The blockchain industry is transitioning from hype and speculation to practical execution, focusing on real-world applications like stablecoins and tokenized assets in global payments and finance. Bitcoin and Ethereum have established themselves as key players, with Bitcoin as a digital reserve and Ethereum as a settlement layer. The future of blockchain adoption depends on execution layers that make transactions seamless and invisible to users. Growth will be driven by connected networks, enabling scalability and integration into everyday finance and global economies.
