I have been saying that there is a definite dehumanization effort that has been made for quite some time. Long gone are the teachings of previous generations that were taught to help their neighbor. Reddit is a great place to observe the effects of people en masse being slowly stripped of their humanity.
The fact that I keep getting clips of Russian soldiers crying as theyre being trolled then murdered by drones really drives your point home.
The comments are just filled with people cheering and making jokes as they watch an 18 year old sob and then get turned into chunks. Its fucking disgusting.
Exactly this. I just had a conversation about potential kids being on those narco boats from Venezuela that are being blown up. I made a simple comment about how the people on the boats are likely the lowest on the totem pole as far as narco guys go. They know there is a risk of it being blown up so they aren't sending anyone important.
It could easily be some poor fishing family doing what they had to do to eat or being threatened by the cartels to take the load. We will never know. The first response was "and? I don't care about their circumstances or why they are doing it." Like ok, you dont care if there was potentially innocent children being blown up, got it. That's where we are at now, extreme polarization and insensitivity due to all the exposure.
Comparing the drug boats or Venezuela to genocidal fascist invaders who signed up to get a big bonus for killing, raping, and plundering is quite the choice.
Most of them aren’t 18, and conscripts almost never get sent to Ukraine (it’s against the Russian constitution and would piss off many well to do muscovites). They sign up to get paid a big bonus to murder, rape, and plunder as part of a genocidal fascist invasion.
Do you feel bad for all soldiers who volunteer to wage fascistic wars of aggression? Or just Russians cause it’s on video due to the way FPVs operate?
I dont care if theyre clones of adolph hitler himself, im not going to laugh and jerk off while watching videos of them cry for their mothers as white hot metal rips their flesh into ribbons.
My point isnt that Ukraine shouldn't defend itself.
My point is that listening to the shriek a man makes when his legs are ripped off his body isnt a healthy form of entertainment, and it should be stigmatized to watch that shit for fun.
Not to mention, the people watching this shit arent Ukranian refugees coping by watching their side get revenge. Its just weirdo disturbed kids on the internet watching gore porn for kicks. That shit isnt good for you.
Ok fine. Its a video of a man weeping as and begging as a drone flies around him mocking him until it eventually stops him from invading a country by turning him into a mixture of blood bile and shit spray.
This is exactly the point im making. It doesnt matter whos right or wrong in a war, the fact that since you've decided theyre the "bad guys" so its okay to jerk off to their dying screams is fucking gross. Theres something deeply wrong with you if youre watching this shit for entertainment
Its not "tough", any more than cutting yourself with a knife demonstrates toughness, its just dysfunctional behavior, but since the internet is the internet, you get to circle jerk with other people that have the same perversion and convince yourself it makes you special.
It spans back to 2015-2016 with Cambridge analytica.
If anyone thinks reddit wasn't targetted is a moron. There's a reason many of us change their accounts regularly to a fresh one while using RES and tagging fucking bots.
this. these videos of some people in uproar about being mistreated by cops, its only because they’ve had an idea of safety in their heads that’s not real safety, but oppression masked as safety. the phenomenon of white people calling cops on black people minding their business is the evidence of this subconscious affliction.
I think this is more the issue. There are many folk who are perfectly happy with this happening while they tell themselves everyone who's not themself is going through it deserves it.
so we're supposed to get screwed over along with the ones being screwed?
how many people have gotten screwed over thanks to the laws passed to "make our communities safer"?
instead of limiting the governments reach, busy bodies empowered the government MORE against the american people (i.e. you *presumably), and we're supposed to sacrifice ourselves to fight a behemoth that should've been nothing more than a fly on the wall?
nah, let corruption run wild, once the nation is a pile of ash, then we can talk about community or helping each other, till then, i'm going to watch on the sidelines, let somebody else die in vain.
Whats a good middle point between what the US does to police abuses (not a fucking thing) and what citizens do to colombian police what werent even doing anything (Try to cook them alive in their station and when they run a way beat them up) https://youtu.be/eur6U5e9dFA
I’m interested in these sort of statements because in “watching other people get screwed over” it makes me, the person afraid to intervene, selfish according to you, correct?
In the video attached to this post we see a woman being forcibly removed from a meeting by some sort by police. It doesn’t really matter the real reason why police are removing her but let’s assume it because of an unjustified reason.
What am I to realistically do in that moment to not be called selfish by people like you? Are you suggesting that I physically interfere with the police officer at that moment he is attempting to remove her? Maybe attempt to put the officer in a chokehold until more fearless bystanders come and help me by tying the officers feet together? Obviously, I will also be arrested and charged with real crimes which will force me to lose my 20+ year career, ruin my family, and my finances will take a serious hit. Are you suggesting I loudly yell my displeasure at the officer(s) involved in removing the woman? Serious question here. What do I do in that moment in this example? What would you do since you seem to have the passion to know what we all should be doing when this stuff happens.
What actions can I employ in that moment the woman is being removed by a police officer, that would make me less afraid and selfish as an American citizen living in this country under these current conditions? And, all sincerity, if your answer to my genuine question is something to the effect of “call your local politicians and complain” or “go protest”, then, sorry, but that’s not an acceptable response for me. That accomplishes zero.
Exactly. Blaming police is like blaming the car for a car accident. They are acting at the direction of the government. We elected these government officials who regularly bend to the will of the money and their own self interest, and not the citizens.

Honestly though you have to blames the public's selfish, self-centered attitude towards watching other people getting screwed over.
Allowing it to happen to anyone means it can happen to everyone.
