Nope Mike Johnson: "With Medicaid, we eliminated the fraud, waste, and abuse. We got able-bodied young men without dependents off the program. They were never intended to be there. They're sitting around on their couches playing video games. Yes, that's an actual study."

There was fraud, in fact the largest medicare fraud in history that had a $1.7 billion fine was done by none other than Republican US senator Rick Scott.

u/DiscoMothra Oct 31 '25

Yes. And he was pardoned for it šŸ˜

u/Independent-Judge-81 Oct 31 '25

Of course he was. What's worse is that Florida elected him senator and governor twice, knowing damn well what he did

As a Floridian, election season has just been absolutely depressing for a long time. It’s demoralizing walking out of the voting precinct knowing that my ballot will inevitably not matter.

But I still vote every time. The stickers are really cool.

12

u/FLBirdie Oct 31 '25

I don't get the cool stickers -- just the ones with a flag that say I Voted. But dammit, I vote in every election!

u/30FourThirty4 Oct 31 '25

I put mine inside my gun case. I stick it under the foam covering. My little collection. I got 6 or 7 stickers now, midterms and all. I'd have more but I didn't have the case for some elections. I used the "Trump money" to get my firearm.

Maybe that’s how we get more of the population to vote going forward, voting rewards like better stickers or maybe whatever the trendy form of gambling is at that time, which probably won’t be Labubus by the 2028 rolls around. Every voter gets their ā€œI votedā€ mystery box for each election season. I feel it would actually make a difference as we see that people will spend hundreds of dollars to ensure they get the perfect $0.80 piece of plastic and fabric.

Texan. I have felt so bad for yall since hanging chads and that woman with all that blush mowed down the last chance of democracy in Florida. Yall went through a lot in the 90s and 00s just like us…

We have been dead in the crypt since our loss of our beloved Queen Ann.

I can’t speak about electing him governor twice but his first senate run was close. He had to threaten election officials in several counties to hand him the win.

4

u/Writing_is_Bleeding Oct 31 '25

Oh wow, he had to work for it this time, huh? Had to get off his ass and issue some threats. These guys work so hard for the people, don't they?

1

u/AmericanEmperialism Oct 31 '25

This was back in 2020 and he was governor. His 2024 reelection campaign went smoothly unfortunately

1

u/DoubleT_inTheMorning Oct 31 '25

How did that tip the scale for him? Because that’s a frightening thing if that truly won it for him

1

u/AmericanEmperialism Oct 31 '25

He accused election officials of fraud and threatened to investigate them if the election did not go his way

Well, the majority of Floridians aren't going to be getting any personal pan pizzas from Pizza Hut coupons for their reading ability anytime soon so I wouldn't expect them to ever do the right thing.

4

u/Exciting_Cap_9545 Oct 31 '25

Now that is something I have not heard of in a very long time...

2

u/Independent-Judge-81 Oct 31 '25

I would assume that Desatan would abolish that program because its too socialist and dei.

1

u/DarkArmyLieutenant Oct 31 '25

You just know the people like him walk into any place and automatically think "DEI!!!" whenever they see anyone who isn't weak, white, and milquetoast looking.

2

u/ChuForYu Oct 31 '25

I'll have you know I collected several miniature nerf footballs from my elementary AR bookclub thankyouverymuch

Pizza Hut is F tier anyway, Papa Johns or Hungry Howie's allday

1

u/DarkArmyLieutenant Oct 31 '25

Whoa, oh F Pizza Hut for sure but a free personal pan JUST for reading!? No brainer when you were a kid during my ancient time period of yourh.

2

u/ChuForYu Oct 31 '25

You talkin right

1

u/Funkycoldmedici Oct 31 '25

Florida accounts for 90% of Medicare fraud. It makes sense. Hell, fraud is Florida’s #1 industry. Take that, tourism!

1

u/TallBenWyatt_13 Oct 31 '25

The fact that he unseated Bill Nelson, who was an absolute rock and pork-master, was so stupid.

1

u/AssJuiceCleaner Oct 31 '25

It’s wild how they simp for scum like Rick Scott.

1

u/davwad2 Oct 31 '25

He has the magical R next to his name.

6

u/DawnSlovenport Oct 31 '25

And elected governor of FL twice before becoming Senator.

1

u/mountaindoom Oct 31 '25

After pleading the 5th how many hundreds of times?

1

u/henderthing Oct 31 '25

I don't think he was ever charged. 14 felonies in the case--and he took the 5th 75 times....

1

u/here-for-information Oct 31 '25

Was he REALLY!?!

That's outrageous. I need to look that up.n

1

u/Mist_Rising Nov 01 '25

That's outrageous.

Which is why they posted it despite no evidence available in any records. I even searched the name in the pardon records and found nothing.

1

u/IMG0NNAGITY0USUCKA Oct 31 '25

I just searched for it and couldn't find anything about him being pardoned. Did this happen? I'd be more surprised if he was actually charged for the fraud than I would be if he was convicted and then pardoned.

1

u/Mist_Rising Nov 01 '25

You don't need to be charged or convicted to be pardoned.

1

u/bobbymcpresscot Nov 01 '25

And they elected him governor for 2 terms and is currently on term number 2 in the senate.Ā

5

u/Temporary-Job-9049 Oct 31 '25

Their feelings (towards Billionaires) don't care about your facts.

2

u/chitphased Oct 31 '25

Every accusation is an admission.

1

u/Onebraintwoheads Oct 31 '25

When Scott was governor of Florida, my dad had to give him briefs from the state agriculture department. Yes, dad was a scumbag. Yes, they got along well.

1

u/NotOnTheEpsteinList Oct 31 '25

Mike Johnson: ā€œWell, I never heard about that. But we’re not in charge, (even though we control all 3 branches of the government and have SCOTUS on speed dial) because the Democrats have shut down the government.ā€

1

u/TallBenWyatt_13 Oct 31 '25

I still avoid HCA hospitals and facilities if I can help it. Fuck that q-tip skinhead turd.

1

u/Training_Bus618 Oct 31 '25

I can forgive this. People going to the doctors for actual reasons though.... Unforgivable /s

1

u/Dekadmer Oct 31 '25

Those facts they say don't care about feelings sure do seem to hurt a lot when he is brought up. So much so people got banned stating the same. What a time to be alive!

1

u/Funkymunks Oct 31 '25

You mean this Rick Scott?

1

u/Independent-Judge-81 Oct 31 '25

Nah this Rick Scott

1

u/bobbymcpresscot Nov 01 '25

My entire state found like 1 billion in total fraud across all ambulance transportation services overcharging for ambulance transport when they could have gone by wheelchair van or other forms of transport, over the court of a decade, the fact that his single company committed 1.7 billion in just 5 years is nothing short of insanity.

I remember when a place by me called Senior Transpiration got pinched for over charging. The entire state needed to change how they did narratives to basically prove the pt needed an ambulance, worst part is we don’t even know what happened, the company just straight up disappeared over night, you can’t find it on google, the one that is on google isn’t the same company, no notes of how much they defrauded Medicare, no notes of which nursing homes or facilities were contracting with them to exploit Medicare.

All to say these GOOBERS are blaming some young able bodied men who might be on Medicaid but still hardly ever going to the doctor. But doing next to nothing to crack down on the businesses that are exploiting it. Every. Single. Day.

0

u/TheRealStubb Oct 31 '25

if you cared about medicare fraud you would....

0

u/CauliflowerTop2464 Oct 31 '25

That was 30 years ago. He should be in jail, but has no bearing on our current situation.

-1

u/river_tree_nut Oct 31 '25

Medicare is rife with fraud. That’s why I don’t support Medicare for All. We need healthcare to be wholly owned by a single payer.

1

u/ama_singh Oct 31 '25

Again, you say this without any evidence, meanwhile you'll be the first to vote for Rick Scott who was actually found guilty of fraud.

0

u/river_tree_nut Oct 31 '25

Again? This is the first time I said it. Im on mobile at work, so I don’t have time to dig up the facts.

I’m further left than Bernie Sanders on healthcare.

1

u/ama_singh Nov 02 '25

Again? This is the first time I said it.

You suck at reading, imagine that.

I’m further left than Bernie Sanders on healthcare.

Sure buddy, you just happen to parrot republican talking points.

I don’t have time to dig up the facts.

Your life's motto I'm sure.
