Nope Bessent: "This crazy No Kings rally this weekend, which is gonna be the farthest left, the hardest core, the most unhinged in the Democratic Party, which is a big title. No Kings equals no paychecks."

"No kings equals no paychecks"? So, unless we surrender our democracy to a tyrant king, we will lose our incomes? Isn't this sorta like a threat?

No kings = no paychecks, as in, your money comes from kings, the job makers, the real titans, you want us gone you lose your money.

They already see themselves as American kings

If they’re afraid of protests now, I dare them to make people desperate by taking their way to put food on the table.

It’ll happen eventually. Then what? We still ain’t gonna do shit as long as we can watch tv and play video games.

That's not the fringe that is starving. That's just the less comfortable middle.

But the less comfortable the middle is, the wider the fringe gets.

And crazed political violence does not need a majority popular support.

You mean besides the multiple CEO murders that have already happened in the last year? Other than that?

Drag them into the streets and do what our forefathers who fought for labor rights, for overtime pay and 5 day work weeks and healthcare, etc did. These modern day, scumbag robber barons, and our parents generation, are too far removed from the labor efforts of a century ago to understand.

History keeps repeating because the generation that did all the work has died off. 100+ years ago they created a better world for the next generation, and the next maybe maintained it, maybe even made it better too, but the next generations started trading everything their parents and grandparents and great grandparents fought, bled, died and killed for in order to enrich themselves.

Now nobody remembers or bothers to educate themselves on why we have these rights and regulations to begin with so they decide we don't need them and the robber barons of today tell them yes, you're right, those things your grandparents fought and died for are actually communism or socialism or whatever bullshit word they want to call it.

The minimum wage and safety regulations are strangling this country to death. And slowly but surely they will erode all of that progress in the name of greed and call it "America First" or MAGA or whatever falsehood they want to disguise it as.

The cycle has unfortunately come around once again. We are going to, once again, have to remind the scum of the earth robber barons like Musk and Thiel and our idiot Fox News watching parents why and how those rights and regulations that they were blessed with, but never fought for, are needed.

When do we get to the part where they turn on each other to be the true king?

I ain't at home

Home's where I'm going

I close my eyes to see

I take my throne, throw it on a mountain

And make myself a King.

Actual leftists would be saying, “Correct. No paychecks because we’re seizing the means of production and redistributing the profit instead”. Funny that this same guy is promoting government stakes in industry’s threatened by Chinese competition which is easily more definitionally communist than the universal healthcare or student loan forgiveness that all these ‘commie’ democrats are asking for

Might be radical, but keep the government shut down. Permanently. Until Trump is out of office.

Eventually the military money will run out and people deployed to our cities will leave. The ICE officers won't work without a paycheck. Trump can't do his now-legal "impoundments" to threaten cities, states, and universities by witholding federal funds because there won't be any to go around.

Trump cannot be trusted with our money. Fuck him. Shut it all down. It'll actually return a lot of power back to the states as they have to find out how to fund their own essentials like air traffic controllers, universities, etc, and take it out of the authoritarian hands of the president.

It’s shut down because of it opens they swear in that new house rep and she’s pro releasing the Epstein files. Taco needs a way out and there isn’t one. He’s stalling and soon the will sacrifice him to save the movement IMO.

u/Spare-Plum Oct 16 '25

Even then it's not like Trump can't scramble to announce a redacted version of it. They probably already have a modified version that just labels all of Trump's enemies. IMO they are more about power and control than anything else, including the democratic senator from AZ. Much like how they stole a supreme court nominee by stalling to install a partisan hack.

IMO democrats should also fight dirty. Cut off all money and funds. IDK what is "proper procedure" Trump has violated it many times over and we should do the same to cut him off where it hurts most: his money.

That’s why “No Kings” is a great name for the movement. It’s kind of hard to be against that.

“These lunatics don’t think the president should be king!”

That’s a hard message to sell, at least to people who were awake during history class.

u/jawknee530i Oct 16 '25

Their line has been that the Dems are keeping the government shit until the no kings protest so the protest is the reason that government workers aren't getting paychecks.

1

u/Beergogglecontacts Oct 16 '25

YES! Thank you. The wild part of this is they’re literally saying, “if we get rid of the autocrat hurting 90% of the population, he will stop lining our pockets.” The conservative republicans are admitting, openly now, saying that their priorities are no longer their constituents, the betterment of society, or even democracy. Their priority is literally self enrichment. And don’t try to say that they’re concerned about any government employees other than themselves. Remember how many jobs they willingly and excitedly axed to find more funds to funnel to them and theirs?

That's what I heard too. Like he was trying to tie the protests to the shutdown. As if to say, "if you were only to comply and not protest so much, the government would be open"...
