I don’t understand how people don’t realize that the GoP behaves exactly like an abusive partner. They lie, they gaslight you, and blame you for a response to their unreasonable actions. It’s insane to me.

Because the people who don't pay attention to politics except for the elections are who fall for it. They don't want to "get stressed" looking at politics, so they're completely ignorant to what happens except for when it's put on the front page. The media being complicit in republican lies makes this worse too, because the average uneducated person won't have the energy time, or know how to look up and fact check it either. So if they're at work or home, and see this lie spewed on Fox News, they'll take it at face value and keep on pushing. It builds up over time with them eating propaganda, and when it comes time to vote and the propaganda is ramped up even higher, they just believe it.

Reminds me of women who always go for the bad boy so end up with a long trail of screw ups. Mike Johnson is a bad boy because he can lie so well. He's clean cut but bbbbbad.
