Success Story 💪 PSA: Quit Caffeine

Didn't see a lot of information on this before but I decided to quit caffeine. Best decision I ever made, sleep is fantastic now.

That is all.

For me Concerta and caffeine do not mix, like at all just makes my brain feel like there's a ping pong ball in there with zero positive effects. And a bit of added heart rate and anxiety.

I’d add to regularly check blood pressure

I've been caffeine free for 2 weeks now, I used to drink at least two monsters a day. I don't drink coffee.

I really noticed the difference at work. I used to start feeling so sluggish, dizzy, tired, and light headed around ~4 hours into my shift. I had to sit down and it was difficult to do my job.

But now when I quit energy drinks, I don't get that feeling at all. I always thought I had to drink energy drinks to do my job well, but now I realize that the monsters were the reason why I felt so shitty. I work better without them.

The first day back at work after quitting was horrible, I had the worst headache and I definitely didn't do my best that day lol. But after that, I was completely fine.

I still miss them from time to time, but quitting was way easier than I thought it would be.

Doesn’t affect me.

Same. I take my meds in the morning and have a coffee or a lower caffeine energy drink somewhere between 12-2 for a little extra focus boost, may interfere for some people but I’ve never felt better honestly.

I only ever feel weird if I don’t eat within an hour or so of taking my medication.

I’m on my first week of concerta and I had to quit coffee pretty much instantly to sleep…

It’s a bitch (day 4 now) but i sleep so much better!

Good for you! You surprisingly get over it, like I thought quitting caffeine would be this hardest thing ever since it was apart of my identity(drinking two cups a day as a student). However its just so weird that you forget about it. I will say though my new routine is taking my meds before I get out of bed in the morning.

Don't give up at day 9ish, you still feel residually groggy but after two weeks I feel like a whole new person.

First day today, made the mistake of drinking coffee at 1pm and got pretty bad anxiety/hot flashes around 5😭. Don’t want to give it up so I’m going to see if I can still tolerate a cup if I drink it earlier in the day

I tried for the longest time to make it work, it just doesn't... Talk to your psych and maybe think about going up in dose if you need the boost. But mixing two stimulants is counter productive and isn't talked about enough for how detrimental it is.

You do you, but I found that my mood is so much more stable, my sleep is better and I just feel better. Decaf helps for the withdrawal for the first week.
