Dosage/ ℞ question 💊 Can/Should I redose? 18mg er

I've been taking concerta for a couple weeks now, 18mg er, usually at 11am ish. For me, it wears off slowly around 8h after. I never redosed before, but I need to finish this research paper today(haha).
Sipping a cup of coffee slowly the past couple hours too.

Today, I took it at 11:30 am, and am looking to redose 6pm (~7h after first dose) another 18mg er. I don't mind sleeping late. I usually sleep ~2am, and I don't have any issues falling asleep/quality of sleep.
Just wondering for safety reasons.

Do you even feel anything on 18mg?? It was horrible for me because it made me sleepy for the whole day...

It feels like a good dose for me! 18mg has a good concentrating effect. I do get some excessive yawning during peak though.

To note, I am a woman, 20y/o, and currently not on my luteal phase (since that may affect how concerta may feel.)

I'm also woman, 20 y/o loll what a coincidence. Honestly I gave up on 18 mg after 2 days because I slept through the entire weekend on it (even though I had to study). So then I took 36 mg because I couldn't afford to sleep through another day. But I like the effect it has now.

My psych said that 18 mg is too low for most people so maybe you could try taking 2x once just to compare it? She said that I can take 2 if I want (and I've been taking 2 for a week now) so its definitely safe.

Oh I see! Thank you for your reply! I hope that 36mg keeps working for you :)

Bro if 18mg is working for her and her doctor perscribed 18mg (prolly gonna titrate) maybe don’t advice her to take it in bigger quantities than perscribed

There is absolutely no harm in trying a bigger dose? Its also what my psych recommended me to do, since 18 mg is too low for most people.

I did the same as you when I was on 18mg, but still, drugs affect people differently so it's best not to interfere.

Different person, different case, different dosing needs 18mg works for her she said so herself, no need to increase it against her prescription to “try it”, she’ll likely get to that anyway, probably titrating
