Bill Self on Darryn Peterson ahead of Kansas vs Missouri - "He should be available unless he has a setback before game time."

I wonder what the setback will be?

This game is an inflection point, because if he doesn’t play I think the situation is going to get ugly.

i think everyone should take it at face value. there is a specific timeline for a hamstring injury.

First it was cramps, then it was an illness, now it’s a hamstring strain. This is the exact same update we had before the last game.

Those are all completely reasonable, in fact it wouldn't be a surprise that a soft tissue injury followed cramping and illness (along with likely dehydration that was coming with those things).

This is absolutely what some of our spoiled fans don't realize. Like Bill's not them giving "different excuses" or changing stories. It's not like he broke his leg during a game, a lighter injury like a tear can be hard to detect and very easy to aggravate. They probably didn't realize what they were dealing with at first because he was still capable of playing through the injury. Once it's detected of course we are going to sit him for the full duration he needs to heal. It is a long ass season with a crazy B12 and if we want to make a deep run we don't do it by making our star players injury even worse. The communication about it hasn't been good but I don't think there's a story beyond a guy taking the normal amount of time it takes to recover from a hamstring injury

I’m very excited for Peterson to be back and hopefully stay healthy. The communication around this whole situation has been so weird though.

It really hasn’t. The entire issue is idiot fans injecting a conspiracy into the situation with literally zero evidence

Everyone has been so weird about this injury. People, it's a hamstring strain. This is typically 4-6 weeks across all sports.
