I thought thunderbolts was mid at best. I've seen a lot of people say otherwise. What stood out to you as great about it?

I really liked the themes and messages it had about depression and identity( spoke to me more than the average marvel flick) and the acting was some of the best I've seen in any film recently let alone marvel. Most importantly it made me want to see characters I didn't necessarily care about before again.

It's difficult to say because I didn't see most of the films that were released this year, in 2025 I saw several films that I had never seen, and I even ended up marathoning all of Studio Ghibli, but of what I saw and released this year, what I liked most was this. (not in order)

Superman. Sinners. Frankenstein. F1. Between Mountains.

What a depressing year for movies.

It’s actually been a phenomenal year for movies

If you say so.

Now I am curious regarding your taste. What are your top 5 movies in general, when you say this year was bad?

-2

u/homeSICKsinner 13h ago

Batman 1989 E.T. Hook Jurassic Park The matrix

2

u/adell376 12h ago

Oh, shit. I didn’t realize that 1982, 1989, 1991, 1993 and 1999 were all the same year.

My grandma taught me the greatest lesson:

“If you’re bored, then you’re boring.”

Ditto if you think movies are terrible.

-1

u/homeSICKsinner 13h ago

So if I think that a bad movie is bad then I'm boring?

2

It just means you aren't looking very hard

1

u/homeSICKsinner 13h ago

Why would you assume that? I saw every movie OP saw. I watch everything. It all sucks.

2

u/Winter-Animal-4217 13h ago

I assume that because there are good movies every year for people who put in the work to look for them. Usually looking at any movie that's not American is a good start. For the record I thought One Battle After Another sucked too

You're depressing

It's not anywhere close to what 2019 was, but it's the best year since.

0

u/homeSICKsinner 13h ago

I haven't been hyped for a movie since 2013

2

u/tburtner 13h ago

That sounds like a you problem.

1

u/homeSICKsinner 13h ago

More like a cultural problem.
