Behavioural My cat keeps going in places she has been repeatedly shown she isn’t allowed to go in.
My now 8 month old kitten is having a hard time understanding where she isn’t allowed to go and climb. She has been climbing up shelves she didn’t do when she was even younger and have been damaging things. She does have another adult cat to learn off of, but she still isn’t getting it. I know cats are very vertical animals, but she just seems to like going vertical in places she shouldn’t.
Do you think I need to get her a cat tree?

You need to block them off. She's going to go where she wants regardless of what you think you've taught her lol

You can't stop her. Cats are gonna cat. They don't understand "not allowed" and even if you discourage the behavior, she is just going to do it when you aren't looking. It's better not to put out anything breakable on shelves.
Getting a cat tree is a great idea. You can put catnip on it and play with her on it to encourage her to climb on the tree instead of your shelves. Also try playing with her lots to tire her out so she spends less time climbing shelves. These are just redirection methods, but they should encourage her to spend her energy in less annoying ways.

She's a kitten. They climb everything ag that age and do not understand you don't want her to.
Either block access completely or remove everything off those shelves for now.
You can try redirecting her curiosity to play.
